What is character fee?

Do I need to pay 1€ = $1.31 per month per character ON TOP OF 30€ ($40) purchase, plus 12€ ($16) per month for game fee??

Yup. For what I know, it's 1€ extra for every character you use. I'd recommend not getting this even you like Final Fantasy. After playing one month for free, I wasn't impressed. =/

Yes, you'll have to buy/subscribe for extra character slots. But in this game, you really don't need more than one toon, since you can switch jobs whenever you like. Having a bank alt is probably the only reason to make a second character, which really isn't necessary either.

rofl the game is going solid and the price is the same as any other sub mmo BUT if you want say a mule you need to fork out an extra buck a month for it. The game itself can be played on one char without too much worry.

I've played this for 8 years. £1 a month for ur character is nothing. just think about it as part of your subscription. Its a great MMO once u get a grip of it.

$1 per extra character. WOW, SO MUCH! You can get the WHOLE GAME's content on one character. Others are only used for storage, etc.
