Error Code POL-1158

Please help i resubscribed to FFXI today and i can't update as i get Error Code POL-1158... please advice on how to fix this much appreciated

1158 happens when the Steam vers of XI isn't uninstalled properly & it prevents POL/XI from updating through Steam.

Heres how to fix it:

1. Uninstall XI.

2. Before reinstalling XI again, go to program files C>Steam>Steamapps>common.

3. Delete the FFXI directory.

4. Start Steam

5. Reinstall the POL viewer & XI.

Sure no problem, in answer to your other question about low level gear, you can either buy from the nation vendors, from crafting guilds like Clothcraft etc,off the AH, do certain records of eminence objectives to earn equipment or by trading conquest points.

Wiki has a list of quests that will reward you with gear, it should be useful until you start to quest your artifact sets & gear relating to content.

Yep started Records of Eminence and enjoying myself - just getting armor is slow , only updated my weapon at this stage....will have another look at wiki thxs..

Records of eminence is useful, you can make some quick gil by exchanging your sparks/accolades for some items like the refractive crystals or buy the lv75 shields using sparks then selling them to a vendor.

Easiest objectives to set to get quick sparks/accolades are the do x damage to targets, kill X mobs in the area you're in & unity ROE.

Ground tomes offer better xp gain & they increase in potency the more times you complete the tomes objectives. FOV doesn't offer that.

A quick an easy way to get xp is use the GOV along with the xp rings, ROE objectives & the Corsair Qultada or Kupofried trusts who can boost your xp gain with their buffs.

I'll have a go at that once i can locate where the Gov are thxs....only been able to find the Fov.

GOVs are usually near to the zone lines for the areas that have them, you can also find them on widescan. I think wiki has a list of GOVs.

Already been reading up about them on wiki, but i didn't check on widescan so i'll do that next time i log on..
