Am I missing a mechanic?
So, I've prestiged a few times at "sawmill". I haven't seen a new mechanic... yet? Like, I unlocked "prestige" and "location" by "dirt", and those are the only mechanics that have done anything. I've gotten access to automation by 2k prestige coins, and while I technically did unlock junk, it is somewhere between largely and mostly useless (whee 50% increased particles for 5 minutes, as long as I idle in useless places long enough to collect the junk...). By this point leaf blower was hitting its second prestige tier, there were unique upgrades in each leaf, there was *some* strategy in where you invested upgrades. This feels immensely... flat. Am I missing something? Does it gain any extra depth, or is it just this until I reach the furthest location?

I feel like this has been the "driving through South Dakota" of idle games so far.
i don't specifically recall Leaf Blower prestige path but I do remember that they wanted to make this game a bit simpler. Eg, there were several prestiges and sub-prestiges in Leaf Blower.

Overall, so far, this game just has the one prestige, and it just goes to Mars. It will still take a lot of time to automate getting to Mars, and then getting more and more prestige coins to maximize other things, so even as-is, it can still take several months to get through the current content.

as far as when to prestige and what to buy with the coins, as you can guess, going to higher zones can give more prestige points. and then using gold coins and prestige coins to buy upgrades, can give more prestige points as well, not to mention upgrading the cost of upgrades to be cheaper. so overall, you will be able to

as far as junk goes, there are a few items or upgrades that you can see the benefit of right away, so it might tempt you to stay in that area and collect stuff. however, that is still fairly early in the game, and those benefits may not be as useful as just continuing on to the next zone to get more prestige coins (because again, the more time you spend in higher level zones, the generally more prestige coins you can get)
Cool, thanks. That's the impression I was getting.

I'm all for another game filling the role of "simpler leaf blower", as that gets really... hairy/odd as one gets further along. I do hope the dev is planning to add enough complexity to make it.... more of a "game" and less of a "prestige 1-3 times a day then flip it to the background". Right now I get that it's early, and the visuals are great/interesting, but the gameplay itself is very one-note. If the dev has some good plans for it, I'll look forward to seeing those play out!
