So after i got his ending, there are several, but in this case the one where you make him serve you? my loading screen for the game changed to the raincoat figure holding the umbrella? is this normal help, the lore in this game runs deeper than i thought damn

Yeah, it's normal. The screen can change again if you get a different ending with him too.

at some point mr gap offers to trade a magazine for your finger and you accept, then it spirals from there where the umbrella guy kidnaps you in this sea of red, you battle him (say all things that make the screen crack) and then spare him after you see his broken umbrella

^ adding on to say that if you fail even one of the correct choices in the "battle" you get his personal ending. And yes, with certainty I can say the MC is the raincoat figure.
