Fun with Fungi/White Witch Help

So I am trying to finish the White Witch mission and in order to remove the shield I either have to kill the mushrooms or use the dispel spell that is found past all the traps near the troll. However, I had already triggered the lava trap that covers the spot you are supposed to dig up to get the scroll. I can not get past the damn lava. Tornado doesn't work, even through everyone says it does, it just passes over the lava and doesn't do anything. I can't get my fire resistance up high enough because I don't have any fire resist gear. And I can't walk on the rocks to get to it, every time i try my character tries to run around the rocks, I also can't teleport onto the rocks because it drops him in the lava.

Its been so long since ive done it i cant describe how to do it so i will play that part through and then post it here. Altho i do know i split from party had both tp stones and tossed one so it landed right in front of the chest.

Ok, you either need to revert to an earlier save BEFORE you triggered the lava, or pick a fight with the Mushrooms (very tough fight).
If you choose an earlier save, walk up the approach to the first mine trap, separate from party, have BOTH tele stones on you. Disarm traps on the way up and use the box & barrel to drop poison traps. Walk to the to edge of that rock or just far enough to be able to toss a tele BEHIND the chest. SAVE f5, toss tele and teleport. press f5 to save again then dig up scroll. Open chest, toss tele back to safe spot, teleport and presto you have the barrier scroll!

Okay, thanks Cracker, I'll just have to do the mushroom fight because I have 3 different play throughs running at the moment and so I don't have an earlier save for that play through. Thanks though I'll remember for next time

Eh, I may be a bit too late, but you can actually toss a barrel/crate/whatever on top of the lava hatch and the lava will retract (don't ask why lol). It will immediatelly burn and destroy the barrel but it will keep the lava at bay. DO NOT walk over it after that though becuase it will come back again.
