Where can I find a resurrection book?
I've read that it can be found at the potion seller in the marketplace but it doesn't seem to be for sale. Thanks in advance for any information.

There are only scrolls, at least in the first area of the game. The offering of merchants change from time to time. I think Arhu will most likely have a few to sell.

I see, that makes death very expensive. Are there any companions I can find in the first area that have the resurrection skill?

No. Only scrolls. Death is indeed expensive in D:OS. Try to avoid dying... ;)

There is a resurrection spell, and Arhu is never going to have the book since it's a witchcraft spell.
The merchant doesn't have it though because it's rather high level and your level is not high enough to spawn it.

The game is designed for you to think ahead. Which means buy pots...LOTS and LOTS of pots, save a lot. Part of the strategy in combat is knowing when to use a potion or not (do I try to get one last attack off before my next round or should I drink the pot ASAP). That's why there are only res scrolls not books.

You can get a resurrection book. It's part of the Witchcraft spells. You may learn it at level 16. You get it from one of the elementals (forgot which one - not the earth one) in Homestead. You've got to unlock them first, though.
