(SPOILER!) Rock, Paper, Scissor - Winning against Cecilia
Hi,

I saw my friend playing this game and was constantly replaying his save because he keep losing against an NPC named Cecilia. He never get a draw but to him the NPC always throw a random hand, but not the one he's chosen.

After playing for him for a few minutes and a couple of reload, I noticed something and told him that this game's RPS is certainly not random in certain parts (well coded actually), but uses simple algorithms (or patterns) which decides the next hand of the NPC, and this one is for Cecilia - the Queen of Argument. I am not sure if it would be the same for everybody but this is how I beat Cecilia. Oh and please bear with me because I am not the best at explaining things.

So...

1. Pick Scissor

2a. IF Cecilia's_Previous_Hand = Paper THEN pick Rock
2b. ELSE IF Cecilia's_Previous_Hand = Rock THEN pick Scissor

3. Pick Rock

4a. IF Cecilia's_Previous_Hand = Scissor THEN Pick Rock
4b. ELSE IF Cecilia's_Previous_Hand = Paper THEN Pick Scissor

5a. IF Cecilia's_Previous_Hand = Scissor THEN Pick Scissor
5b. ELSE IF Cecilia's_Previous_Hand = Paper THEN Pick Rock

6a. IF Cecilia's_Previous_Hand = Paper THEN Pick Rock
6b. ELSE IF Cecilia's_Previous_Hand = Scissor THEN Pick Paper

7. Pat yourself and leave a comment to bumb this thread. (If this didn't work, then I'm sorry... Or you could try the my optional winning strategy.)

*Optional Winning Strategy <------------ This is a glitch by the way.
Find a challenger, when the RPS is initiated, press TAB to go to your next character, then TAB again back to the character that is playing RPS. Click continue and continue again to automatically win.

*Disclamer
In the case of the instruction weren't clear enough for your liking, there's a high likely chance of getting your genitalia being caught in the ceiling fan and may cause a severe and extensive pain.

The truth has been told (maybe?)! Hahaha. :3

The pattern above work for AIs with an argument level of 7. I haven't found any other AI with high enough argument level beside Cecilia though.

not working

Yeah didn't work in my game either. Might have something to do with your characters stats/abilities affecting the outcome perhaps.

In my game, I only have to lose twice to lose the whole game, while I have to win 5 times to win.

If I start with Scissors, she often picks Rock (her wins = 1)
If I follow your 2b and pick Scissors, she picks Rock again (her wins = 2, game over).

If I start with rock, she often picks Paper ( her wins = 1)
If I then follow your 2a and pick Rock, she picks Paper again (her wins = 2, game over).

Your strategy sort of works, only if you start with Scissors, and she picks paper (your wins = 1), then you follow 2a and sometimes she picks Scissors (your wins = 2), but often she picks Paper and then it's basically game over (because your suggested picks lose the next round etc).

It'd be nice if it was this easy, but it's not.

There could be a pattern to how she chooses, but I don't think this is it.

(It's also really annoying that no matter how I arrange my party (order or formation) she chooses my low charisma character so I get no bonuses on my wins).

There does seem to be a pattern, but I'm pretty sure there's also RNG involved.

If you really want to win, 8 charisma helps a bit.

quicksave, press space bar to skip, quickload till win - appears to be 50/50 regardless of the opposing conversation skills.

Perfect, worked for me!

Worked for me, mostly. Thanks! But I'm not sure what I've gained by it, she still shoved me out of the room. So what's there to be gained with this whole Cecilia adventure?

I noticed that she plays some patterns always the same way.

One of her patterns is this:

Scissors - Scissors - Rock - Rock - Rock

What i did was save the game before starting and always play against that pattern with:

Rock - Rock - Paper - Paper - Paper

If something changed i would load the game and start all over until the pattern was the one i wanted.

Took me 3 tries.

I won by using the spacebar. Guess I got lucky. The outcome was the same tho, not sure of the purpose.

@Bob The Rock-Rock-Paper-Paper-Paper sequence worked for me! Thanks!

It works for me, thanks!

None of the strategies worked here for me. Also, I've read on other sites that my choice (intimidate, charm, reason) will influence the outcome. I've only tested this vs Cecilia, but she's +7 vs my +1 every choice. I've read that the outcome will be the same (minus XP), but I've tried using the space bar to determine the outcome 25 times for no wins. They nerfed the other alternate skip, so did they nerf the space bar possibly winning, too?

You should still be able to win when using the space bar to autoresolve RPS.
