Tutorial dungeon - bugged door!

I'm stuck at the second set of pressure plate doors in the tutorial dungeon. I've split my party as the game suggests and place one character on the pressure plate. This is supposed to open the right door so that my other party member can walk through and active a pressure plate on the other side so that the left door opens for the first party member. The problem is that as the right door opens (slides down), it reveals a similar door that takes its place. Some weird graphic accompanies this and it is clearly a bug. I had another player join the game as cooperative and he confirmed this was not normal. All walkthroughs and youtube guides show the right door opening as you would expect it to. I have obviously tried to re-load several savegames back but get the same result every time. I don't want to create a whole new party only to reach the same place and the same bug.

Is this bug known (I haven't been able to find any similar description here) and is there a fix for it? Alternatively and as worst-case is there a way I can skip this part or the tutorial altogether so that I can progress in the game?

Well that's a new one. I suppose you can just skip the tutorial dungeon alltogether. There's just one minor fight past that, and then you're done anyway.

This has been reported a couple times, but I don't know of any fixes other than starting a new game. You can restart the game and create a new profile first, to minimize the chance of the problem reoccurring, but I don't recall anyone reporting it happening again that restarted, even without that.

As mentioned it is just the one fight left and a little loot, so could also be skipped. I don't recall a similar problem being reported with any pressure plates later in the game.

I've played through the game once before with no problems.
That was on another PC though so that doesn't prove my following point, I'm just confirming that there are no further problems with pressure plates to my knowledge.

This time I was using the "Epic Encounters" overhaul mod and after reading up on it, this problem is known to be possibly caused by it. Though that comment I found was posted years ago and the mod has been in development to this day.

Anyway, my point is that it is likely the mod that broke that. For whatever reason.

yep, door still broken, epic encounters mod. I restarted game three times, for other reasons, and it was broken on third attempt only.

Looks like this bug is still around, this was the only post I could find that had any info. Anyway this happened to me as well today, I too am using the Epic Encounters mod, I tried reloading my save and wasted a ton of time messing with stuff looking for something I might have missed.

I loaded up an auto save that was in the first pressure plate room before I had tried interacting with the plates (right after the first fight in the dungeon) after that I made a new manual save and closed the game completely. Once the game was loaded back up I went to the mods tab and selected my only mod "Epic Encounters" and clicked activate. (it was already checked and activated but doing this started a loading screen that re-applied the mod.

I loaded up that manual save and the first thing I did was drop a 5 pound locked chest I had in my inventory for whatever reason then separated my characters. I left one character in the center of that room and used my other character to push the vases onto the 2 plates to get into the next room. I ran straight to the pressure plate ignoring everything else including my second character and it finally opened!

I don't know what exactly fixed it so I tried to be as descriptive as I could. If anyone else runs into this issue while using that mod try reactivating the mod at the main menu, also check your inventory for heavy objects like crates/chests/barrels and drop them (the bugged out pressure plate has some kind of weight modifier coded into it) I was stuck here for like 3 hours. I think I can narrow down the fix Derpaholic found. You can just make a new save while not standing on the pressure plate, close the game, reopen game, go to mods, uncheck-recheck epic encounters, click activate, reload game and it should work. At least it did for me.

Confirmed. The bug occured but this solution/workaround helped!

This worked, just remember, when he says "close the game, reopen the game", you must really close the GAME, back to desktop. If you just return to main menu, for some reason this doesn't work
