What version of OSX?
Unfortunately, there is a known OSX issue in Sierra, which will cause D:OS Classic to crash on startup. Until Apple fixes this, to play the original release on that system you would need to revert to El Capitan, if possible, or maybe play under Windows in Bootcamp.

The Enhanced Edition should work, though.

If you are not using Sierra:

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game? Firewalls have caused conflicts (generally on loading screens, though) and overlays from graphics tweaking/monitoring programs or chat programs have also caused issues.
Game Center has caused startup crashes, particularly in El Capitan.

Check for updated graphics drivers, etc.

Try hitting the Cmd button on game startup and enable all the workarounds.

Try verifying local files: in the Steam library, right click on Divinity Original Sin and select Properties, switch to the Local Files tab and then click on the 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache...' button.

Try running the game directly, without Steam running. In the game Properties, Local Files tab, as above, click on the 'Browse Local Files...' button and then exit the Steam client and launch the game from Finder.

Hey there,

I'm experiencing the same problem on macOS 10.13 High Sierra. Is the only option really to downgrade to El Capitan? My saved games are on the classic edition so the enhanced edition isn't really an option.

I've looked into downgrading to El Capitan and looks like it pretty much requires you to erase the entire computer, install the original operating system, and then upgrade to El Capitan.

I've uploaded the crash log here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/d5pnqigeirxn9p5/divinity_crash_log.txt?dl=0

I bought this game earlier today, and of course found out that Classic does not work on my shiny, new iMac. So, did I waste my money in purchasing "the collector's edition"?

What is it that Apple is supposed to fix, and why Apple rather than the game programmers?

Seeing as how we are in macOS 10.13.x, looks like that aint gonna happen.

Asking for a refund did not work. I even sent Steam a partial copy of the crash log.

This is how you know you're a terrible developer ^

Many developer from older games to brand new games have working Mac versions of their games with ZERO problems. Stop blaming Apple for you being bad at your job.
