Controlling 2 Characters
I've honestly never gotten into a game where you control more than 1 character. I find it to be such a hassle, is there something I'm doing wrong? How do you guys go about playing with 2 at once?

Not sure what the issue is for this game. You can just control the character you want to play, and have the other people follow you. In combat it will just cycle through the turns so there's no hassle. Can you be more specific about what things are a hassle to you?

Is that how it's done? I don't have to continuously be swapping around on chars while travelling and only doing certain stuff on certain characters out of combat?

Yeah, I generally play with just one and swap only when I want to. Check out some of the videos that are posted to get an idea of how it all works.

In the top left there's a place that displays portraits for party members. You start off with two characters. By default there should be a chain between the portraits, which means the character you're not controlling will automatically follow the one you are controlling. Switching between characters is done simply by left clicking a portrait. Now you can drag a portrait away from the other one and make it so there isn't a chain between portraits. Doing that will make it so the other character won't automatically follow you. You can drag them back together to put the chain back of course. You might want to do certain things on certain characters because they're specialized to do that. For example, if you have one good at crafting, and the other good at sneaking and stealing.

It's basicly just like most party based rpg's. And you get more party members later in the game (think bg,iw and most old school rpg's). The unique is of course the dialog system between the two main characters. I guess it work best if you play coop with a friend.

How do you do this in multiplayer? My friend can't control any character but his own...

For now, in co-op the host needs to ask a companion to leave the party, and then the other player can re-hire them (either in the King Crab tavern or, if you have access, the Hall of Heroes).

Thanks very much! Looks like we'll have to re-do it after every load, but hopefully they'll fix that.

Now we just need to find this damn Esmerelda. They say she's in protectice custody but she isn't in the barracks dungeon...
