Quicksaving after every NPC encounter or fight doubles / triples the framerate again to normal levels. And the next combat it drops again! I would also like to know when this will be fixed, as I am pretty sure this was not an issue in my first playthrough.

Make sure to enable v-sync and triple buffer dont use framecap...

One person said it helped to set the option in their Radeon pro to 'force game process high priority'.

There are are some general engine optimizations and changes being made which may help this issue in the process, or should at least make it easier to track down. The latest Kickstarter update video describes these briefly.

Same problem, I really hope they fix it soon, because it is very annoying, sorry that such a beautiful game can not be fully enjoyed by this issue.

The strange thing is that the GPU load goes down along with the framerate. I can see the gfxcard throttling down and only using about 30-50% of that reduced clock. After a quicksave it overclocks again and runs around 90% as before.
No amount of vsync/triple buffer/nvidia panel vsync settings changed anything unfortunately.

Without wanting to sound annoying, no estimated date for the new patch?

It sure looks like Larian has no intention of fixing this. At least a confirmation that they are no longer willing to work on patches for Divinity would be nice.

Larian is still working on patches for D:OS, including engine optimizations, as I mentioned above, with the kickstarter link.

This issue has been known for over half a year, so I hope you understand my skepticism.

Greetings again, what comes out the patch, hopefully resolve this terrible incident, I have found a way to lessen its effects.

First follow the steps explained:

http://steamcommunity.com/app/230230/discussions/0/45350244969459495/?l=spanish

After entering the settings on your graphics card and program settings for the game, enable the following functions:

Power Control: Maximum Performance

Maximum number of frames previously represented: 4

Optimization linked: On.

FPS Booster also download the program:

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/5695/?

With these steps I have managed to reduce the drop in fps largely used to spend 60 to 40 and then to 20, until it becomes unplayable, following described before, the drop remains at 50-55 fps, turning the slightest problem although I really hope that is fixed in a future patch.

Well that's it for me, excuse my English, I'm Latino.

I hope it will help.

Update 01/02/2015

This solution stops working after last patch, only hope that Larian resolve this.
