Teleport Pyramids
What is the point when you can't leave them anywhere. I try to use them to bookmark my place in a dungeon so I can come back after I sell, and they keep following me. So I have to walk all the way back to where I left the pyramid. LAME.

I've only found 2 uses for them.

1) To spy on women in the bathtub.

2) To jump over narrow river, avoid small patches of lava.

The best use I've found for them is sneaking up with an unlinked character with 1 pyramid close to a group of enemies and then teleporting on top of them with the other group of 3 linked characters. I'm not sure what you mean when you say that they keep following you. I haven't had that problem.

teleport pyramids only work on the same map. leaving an area will put them back into your inventory. they're meant to be used for short range jumps and puzzle solving, not warping long distances. The big warp gates are the mechanism that's in place for long distance travel.

some other spoilerish things they solve -

They get you into the temple of the dead
They can be used to skip sections of the temple with the floor that instakills
They are crucial for getting through the source temple.
They can be used to get more people fighting at once with the elemental pillars puzzle/fight
Pass over sentinel vision range with ease
etc

I'm aware of the gates. I'm just used to Divine Divinity where I would use them to travel to town and then back to where I left off (like a Diablo-style town portal).
The biggest problem with the gates is there are so many of them. I really can't keep track of which ones are closest to where I want to go.

Thanks, I didn't know about most of these.

In OS they are pretty much only for puzzle solving, mild cheating or fighting. In the early Divinity games they actually worked as advertised. :)

You *can* use them to teleport back from a dungeon area as long as that dungeon is part of the same map. In the case of the Cyseal region, that's pretty much everything other than Black Cove, which is a separate zone.

Doesn't give you many shopping options in Hiberheim though.

Edit: Especially after you kill all the immaculates.

Finish the game and you'll find out.

I guess they don't seem impressive if you play alone but when we went through the game the teleporter pyramids were a massive timesaver. We could split up in town, do our own things and still meet up. One wait at the quest area while the other went to town to do something etc etc. Really useful.

^ this! You can have two people doing their own thing and then intantly join each other again. Maybe someone stays in the field, someone uses a gate to go back to town, buy/sell some things, then insta teleport back to a friend.

There's multiple cases where you can throw a stone on a position where you can't teleport. It's generally from higher positions to lower positions. Nothing mandatory to do but it can be handy sometimes.

Another trick is using containers, telekinesis works through energy portals and not teleport. So you could sometime use telekinesis past the portal to move a container close to portal, open container, put stone in it, then teleport to go past energy portal.

But the use of stones is less solving problems than just a tool to manage sneaking and party ie one character sneak other will teleport, and for managing coop.
