Victoria doesn't have Forgotten Language of the Faery

Hey hi;

So I kicked King Boreas ass, and now I would like to open the chest carved in fairy runes.
I heard that Victoria had the book necessary to decipher the runes, but... she doesn't have anything in my save.

I don't remember having bought this book earlier in the game, and I checked Cyseal sellers... but nothing.

What to do ? I would like to finish this quest. Is there any Divinity dev or support that could help me by telling me where is this book or by adding the book in my save ?

Is the book lying around somewhere in the libraray itself, either directly in the room or in one of the shelves?

It's been too long for me to remember clearly, but I thought I ran across that book in some other location. It might be one that can spawn in more than one place.

As patches change stuff I'm not sure, but I don't remember this book could be stolen in the library. I'd suggest try wait a next shop refill to see if it's not in Victoria shop.

Mentioned that in another thread - it's gone in my game too. I definitely didn't buy it and I'm 100% sure that it wasn't lying around on the floor or something. Victoria used to sell it for ~1500, now she doesn't. No idea why :)

Mmm eventually it is now more tricky to find, it's not a blocking element so perhaps it's been changed. The point is now I remind not have seen it too in my current replay, not sure.

I thought that maybe I've advanced too far after Hiberheim and that at some point the game changed her item list... I already was in Dark Forest until I finally decided to check a guide for information about the Hiberheim sarcophagus

EDIT: There's a game update (1.4Mb) and it's quite recent, with luck they just fixed it. :-)

Thanks, but it doesn't really concern me any longer - I doubt whatever is in that sarcophagus is better than what I have now :D Might be helpful for others though
However, I'm still checking in with Victoria after every level up (last one was yesterday after lvl19) - so far without any luck... ^_^

Now shop refill isn't only for level up but also 24H (in game time) after the first time you get a new shop contents.

Well, I'll keep checking her items every now and then, maybe I get lucky - next time I know to buy it right away :)
Is the loot any good? Most stuff I found in Hiberheim was low level trash...

For me i got loot bugs in Dark Forest at my first play. In general some non random loot are pretty cool, few rare time some random will be pretty cool too. But your safer source is some of the shops, depending of your level.

I know I didn't buy it and she doesn't have it.
Hopefully they fix this soon.

I am having the same issue. I am 99% sure I would not have bought it from her because I would not have known it was necessary. I have looked in every container/furniture/shelf in the Library (even the ones which would be stealing) and I have checked every book just laying around on the floor or desks. I have also checked the other NPCs in the building to see if they had it to barter. It just does not exist for me. Kind of bummed I won't be able to finish that quest.

You can use MooseEdit to edit your save game and add the book to your inventory. See Base Item > Object > Generic > Hiberheim Dictionary
