Pyramids and Imps
I just stumbled into finding the first pyramid, and was delighted to see the Imp who gave it to me. It brought back memories of Divine Divinity, which I have played several times and will doubtless play again someday. The pyramids were incredibly useful in DD, but with all the portals in this game, I am not sure how useful they will be. Short-range teleporting to get past lava and other barriers perhaps? And someone has suggested using them to escape from battles that are going badly...Fast exit to dungeon entrances rather than backtracking?
So how are people using the pyramids in DOS?

They are handy for regrouping in co-op, or single player if you take one character to talk to a specific NPC or check a merchant, etc.

Well, when you spread your characters in combat, one can move to a safe location, the other one can just teleport to him then (6 Action Points). This is handy when one of your chars (must have the other pyramid^^) is flanked by 5 enemies and would die for sure or if you want to "aggro ping pong" a boss.
You also need it for some dungeon...won't spoiler though :D

Coop mate and me are mostly using it when it comes to "where the heck are you" or "lol those orcs gonna rape you use port i'm at a better location to continue the fight".
When you have low movement (running distance per AP) you can also consider using the pyramid instead of running, depends on where you want to get and if it's cost efficient in terms of AP usage.

Since you can toss them through/onto/past things, pyramid teleportation is extremely helpful (and in one or two places, possibly required) for bypassing various obstacles and getting to places that are otherwise unreachable.
