Blood stones, star stones,Temple locked:(
K, so I'm rank 20-21 and can't enter the temple cause apparently I don't have enough star stones, but all I see in my inventory are like 7-8 inert stones and 4 blood stones. How exactly does that work? It's pretty annoying that you can' keep track of how many stones you need to open the temple and also.........now I litteraly have to do research on the internet to find all the stones locations. Loving the game, but this part is a bit annoying. They should have explained the importance of these stones better.

You can follow the importance of the stones via the main story dialogues.

Now press right click to use a blood stone, the black stones are used and do not matter anymore. I think you need 10 or 12 stones in total for the temple to open. Using blue/red stone unlocks a room at the Homestead. (and fully heals you, you might want to save 1 for the end)

If you use the stones, and still cannot open it, there are 2 possibilites.

i) You might need to find a couple more, although if you search the entire game(like you should), you should not have this problem. If that's the case, search on the internet, you will find it quickly.

ii) When your homestead is attacked with fireballs, if you do not resolve this quest, the doors on homestead -therefore the temple - cannot open. If Homestead is ok, and no more fireballs, then that is not the problem!

To get inside the Source Temple you need a rune stone, obtained from the basement of the hut in the swamp to the east, if you have Jahan take him with you. To progress farther through the Source Temple you need 14 star stones, the inert stones, there's 1 to dig up inside the start of the Temple before you get to the door that needs the 14 star stones. There's 15 star stones altogether, blood stones won't work.

I get it, it's just that one would expect that these stars stones would be more visible or obvious, it's weird to me that i've put 120hrs into this game and I have less than half the stones required . Would have preffered for these stones to be dropped after difficult fights instead of me having to search for random dig spots. Bot don't get me wrong, I love this game. Unless I sold them by mistake or something:).

Most of them are drops or hand outs in quests.

Wow i am so stuck at the temple gate............i have 6 bloodstones and 7 inert stones and I revisited all places where these stones are supposed to be (http://divinity.wikia.com/wiki/Blood_/_Star_Stone_Locations) . Now I don't know what to do, I know I used 1 blood stone and might have sold some other inert stones I'm not sure. Are there any side quests that give you these stones apart from those quests on the list?

You need to use the bloodstones in order to open the portals in the homestead, which is required to open the door at the start of the Source Temple (all but the Forbidden Zone portal need to be active).

Ohhhh, wow I didn't know you actually have to USE the bloodstones at The End of Time to open the portals.............ye of course the temple doors are now opened and I have a few bloodstones to spare. Thx for the help.

You can use the bloodstones anywhere, but they do need to be used to trigger an update at the End of Time.
