Ominus black key
POSSIBLE SPOILERS POSSIBLE SPOILERS POSSIBLE SPOILERS

I'm talking about the key you get after the fight with the pirate ghosts, what does it open?

Also, any idea on how to open the iron door in the room with the hidden hatch that leads down to the pirates?

There is a Black Ominous Gate in the Black Cove near the encounter with the orcs and skeletons.

There is a key on a pile of books in that room; hit the Alt key.

Neither for me, I've been moving everything around, only found 1 key so far.

Edit: You have to break the woman's painting.. But my game is crashing every time I do so, don't know how the rest managed to get past this.

Does the key you found open the Cove Harbour door? If not, there should be a key on the shorter pile of books to the right of the door, between the bench and the desk.

For the painting, have you tried different methods to destroy it (Ctrl-attack with a melee weapon, Flare, etc)? Did you try verifying local files for the game?

I managed to burn it down, as for *spoilers* the room full of levers down the hatch, is there anything to it yet? or is it just for fun?.

thanks

Edit: Forgot to ask, what about that "Black Ominous Gate" where the orcs and undead fought? Coulnd't find a way to open it yet.

Thanks man, I've missed a tricky one that's a third way buried on the ground.

Edit: Yet again I'm going to ask about this dungeon, because I'm crashing everytime when I try to cross that stream that's next to the dragon's skeleton. What am I missing? Or it isnt implemented yet? Thanks

A couple other people reported a crash trying to cross that stream, as well, but Larian was unable to reproduce it. Both reverted to earlier saves (one before entering the Black Cove, one inside, but they left and did other things before returning) and didn't have a problem when they got back to that point. Unfortunately, they also both overwrote the earlier saves where they were getting the crash.

Please email supportdos@larian.com, with a description of the problem and the report.zip file generated by the D:OS support tool[www.larian.com]. The zip file will contain your saved games, so should hopefully help Larian track down the source of the problem.
If you mention the problem you had with the portrait, maybe they can determine why it crashed with some attacks, but worked properly when burnt.

I reported it with "SupportTool.exe". Is there much else left to explore there?
Raze_Larian Apr 2, 2014 @ 3:11pm
There is not much left in the Black Cove, just a couple creatures to fight, and the solution to a couple side quests.

I can't seem to find the key either, where's it meant to be?

This is probably one of the worst quest designs I've encountered in an RPG in years...burning the painting down? Really?
Syrris Jul 17, 2014 @ 1:13am
If you mean the one in the pirate's office, you don't need to destroy it. There's another (nondestructive) way of getting it to reveal its secret.

It certainly pays off to turn the viewing angle around and check all the corners. ;)
