Where as "feminists" complain about a sexy female character.
when men see a giant roid raging gears of war clone, we just think it makes him more badass.
I could complain about realisim in the armor too. The giant spiked shoulder pads that the male has are very unrealistic, and would actually hinder your ability to fight in real life. The dozens of buckles and straps that serve no purpose, the swords that are too large to be used in real life, etc.
But no one complains about that, instead it's "waah heels!"
So should they have "realistic" secondary options for every piece of armor and weapon in the game? no? then I don't see heels as a problem.

Every single shoe in the game for the female hero is high heels at the moment. Is it really so bad to ask for some other options? I'm not asking them to change all the armors and weapons, only the footwear by adding more options.
But it's the same way for all of the armor for the male too, World of Warcraft tier shoulder pads that just look dumb, giant swords, etc.
Think about what a well placed kick with these will do to a man
It is all nice that it is a fantasy game, but I like my fantasy games in a away that I can sustain my suspension of disbelief without problems and not been constantly reminded that it is absurd fantasy. The immersion factor is so much higher if the world has its own working logic.
High-heels are not only not practical, they destroy your muscles and make you a significant slower runner and worse fighter. They simply are super stupid to wear constantly and this applies to the real world as well. ;-)
High heels in fantasy games are ridiculous MOST of f the time (I mean I could imagine it some Grand Sorceress living in her Ivory Tower for example) especially on adventurers.
Not just fantasy btw. For example Mass Effexct 1 had proper female armor. Mass Effect 2 had high heels...
It wa kinda funny on Sheeva in RE5 as well. At one boss fight the holes on the metal floor were wider tha her heels, meaning she would have stumbled upon them irl.
This is not reality, you don't need logic o rationality in outfits and weapon. It's Fantasy.
Ok, scarlett's boots are about 6-7 cm. They're not "high heels stiletto"; but average ones with large base. They're supercomfort to wear, even for 8 hours, my job is all standing and walking and I have no problem. To me, as woman, they're not scary at all.
Kinda like how you failed to avoid using them just now to try to make your point, huh?
Dragons are ridiculous in fanatsy games as well. I mean, when was the last time you saw one?
Hitpoints are ridiculous; how many shots to the head can you sustain before you die, much less recovering and continuing on towards your objective?
Strangers suddenly telling you their life stories because "you are trustworthy" or some such nonesense is ridiculous.
I am all for choice, but some of the stands that are being taken are so nitpicky that I fear that resources will be taken away from the devs making a great GAME, which is why we are all here, right?
The armor issue, I can understand. I can see both sides of the issue. But heels? I am not going to insist that no one have an issue with the heels. I do not care. But if we are going to scrutinize every single facet of the game, let's start at the opening portrait (for the record, I am NOT that person. I don't care about customization, and I never bother to do it beyond changing skin color, if I even take the time to do that. I care about exploration and mechanics, not player customization).
When I look at the loading screen, I see a woman with perfectly coiffed hair. Is that realistic? A warrior going into battle takes the time to do her hair? Should that be changed? This female warrior is also attractive with no marks on her face; so you mean to tell me that she has never sustained a scar in battle? Does that break your immersion? Is that realistic? Should it be changed? She is also attractive; should she be made to look "average" so make it more realistic/immersive?
In addition, if I am not mistaken, the hero and heroine are holding hands. This implies to me that they are not just professionally linked. So when I am in dialogue with my SO(?) and they go against me, should I sulk? Should I have a decrease in a stat for a given amount of time? To boost my SO's attitude towards me, should I ply them with gifts? If we disagree outside of combat and then enter combat, should I no longer support my SO because I am angry with them? If the mechanics do not allow me to be upset at my partner, does that break my "immersion" (by the way, immersion is such a tenuous concept and should never be used as a reason to change a game. Immersion levels are individual not universal and no media suddenly becomes "all immersive" once this one spectacular element is added)?
They are also wearing big shoulder pieces on their armor; does that mean that they gain additional protection on that side and decreased perception on that side as well? If they don't, does that break your immersion? Does that need to be changed?
This picking on minutiae can continue on ad infinitum.
I think all should have their voices heard, INCLUDING THE DEVS. As the consumer, we have the ultimate power-we buy or we don't buy. If you don't like it, don't buy. I have done that with COD. I bought it until I no longer felt that they were catering to my needs. I think that both parties are happy with this arrangement. If you want to be more helpful, say why you won't buy, as many have done here. When you speak up, do not be surprised if people disagree with you, including the devs. If you are really perturbed by the exclusion of what you want, do it yourself. I do not say this as a snide slam...this is what Kickstarter and other avenues are for. Become a commercial or niche success and the market will respond.
TL/DR-Let the devs finish the game and mod in what you want.
take a look. This is from divinity 2 ego draconis. It is the female version of the scorpion armor. see any high heels. I don't think I heard any complaints about this design in fact it is rather sexy in HD high res. I was very impressed with the armor in that game it looked good.
ok now that being said Armorkinies and high heels are not a matter of realistic or not but more so a asstetic annoyance the perpose of high heels is to make a woman's ass and legs look good. not to go on adventuring.
