They're just suggested builds. there are no classes. you completely customize each character as you see fit.

I believe it's just starting abilities and perhaps attributes, and perks. However you can customize that aspect. Also after you start the game, you can place points in whatever category you want upon level up.

In other words, it's to make starting the game a bit quicker. Probably.

I believe the OP was more interested in how would such class look and play later and not that the game is clasless and you can customize...just a template...and if not I certainly would :)

For ex. I just picked a wizard (air+water) cause I am not too sure how a battlemage might look like later, witch seem evil so no, and enchanter....no idea about that one at all.

Also the presets determine what items you start with.

I'll give a real answer. This is based on the default builds, although as has been said, you can customize things.

Wizard
This uses Fire and Earth (Poison) in combination to to create fire fields and explosions. This is your basic blaster mage, focusing on raw damage.

Witch
This uses Earth and Witchcraft, and acts as a buffer/debuffer, supporting your other characters and obstructing the enemies.

Enchanter
This uses Air and Water, and is focused around controlling the battlefield, by moving enemies around with Teleport, and comboing air and water to stun and freeze enemies.

Battlemage
This uses Fire and Man-At-Arms. Unlike the others, this is less of a wizard, and more of a melee fighter that also uses magic.
