Leveling Up - Why can't I add points to skills?
So I have been leveling up my characters, I believe they have made it to level 4. However, I can't add points to skills I already have points, i.e. I have 1 point in two handed, but there is no + to add another point into it. I can add points into skills I have 0 in, but not any that I, you know, might actually use.

You need 2 points to get to level 2, 3 points to level 3 and so on.

Is this documented any where?

Harsh if you need multiple levels to raise a point. But does explain much. Had the same question. Thanks!

You could try the Larian forums. I think someone posted a "manual" there that they wrote up. Aside from that, these old school CRPG's are just like that, there is very little direct information outside the basic mechanics to play the game so you need to figure a lot of things out.

Ya, the game seem to have failed to inform on that.

As far as I know, nope.

There is a pop up that says how much you need when you go to level up.

AFAIK, you start getting 2 points per level at level 6. I guess that number increases even more further in the game. And many skills usually get bumped a lot by items.

I don't know if it's documented anywhere, but this is definitely how the design works.

This is not true in the least. "Old school" RPG's had manuels that explained such things.

Back to the point, thanks for the advice from everyone. It is a shame that there is so little actual documentation.

No, but this is how it works.

I chose the skills perk, so it popped up and told me when I did that.

FFS. I wish I had've known this. I have a bunch of wasted skill points spent now. I thought there was a base level prerequisite or something.

By that logic, the game would have been improved by randomising the controls every time you launch it - even more stuff for the user to figure out! Wouldn't that be great?
