room with blue shimmering doors
in the beginning area North of the main town, there's an underground dungeon with four pillars with water, earth, wind, and fire. I solved that puzzle, found a mysterious stranger, grabbed his stuff, and went down further. In the next area are two blue shimmering doors/barriers. There's a pedestal that when you click on it asks for a rectangular object. But for the life of me I can't find what goes on it. Any ideas? I tried everything that dropped from the guy I just killed. None of it was rectangular.

There are two dungeons, each with a mysterious stranger. One drops a round amulet, one drops a rectangular one. Put each on the appropriate pedestals to open the doors.

The weird thing is in 1 of the mini dungeons, the mysterious stranger didn't spawn, even though I completed the puzzle. I'm stuck now.

Split the party and have someone in both rooms at the same time. When you solve the puzzle in one room it spawns the stranger in the other.

i found the entrance to the "rectangle side... how do i get the other side?

from the other dungeon. You had to have been in there if you solved the puzzle on one side. They both have a stranger with an amulet and they both have a way down.

which dungeon was it? i havent played for a couple of weeks and i forgot a lot of locations...

They are right next to each other. If you found one trapdoor the other one should be in sight. It's where the group with the level 5 fireelementals or the zombiedog were.
