Characters won't tether / chain

My characters refuse to chain and move together, the chain is between the portraits but I have to move each person individually using F1 and F2, even if I break the chain between them and reconnect them they still won't move together. I have tried various things such as creating a new profile / game and just using the default characters provided and not making any customisations at all, deleting my game data, verifying the files, uninstalling and redownloading / installing the game. Nothing I try seems to get my chars to actually follow the one I am controlling. (I also haven't picked lone wolf or anything!)

I have no idea if this is a bug or not, I can't see anything in the FAQ and I have only found 2 topics. One where there was no follow up and one that had a "fix" that was completely irrelevant to me as I don't have the devices that were apparently causing the issue (programmable mouse / keyboard).

Is this a known issue and is there a proper fix I could try?

:( Yeah, that mod error was popping up for me prior to cleaning everything out. It's such a game breaking bug as well, and if it's anything the same as mine you will not only have the tethering problems but interacting with scenery issues too. (I couldn't activate pressure plates and the game didn't register when I covered vents...)

The game worked fine as soon as that error stopped appearing, hope you find a resolution soon. :(

Thanks. Well I decided not to give up and worked and worked on it. Finally I did the following and it worked for me (don't know why the complete uninstall/reinstalls didn't)

1) Under Steam\steamapps\common\Divinity - Original Sin\Data I deleted all the folders (I believe the big one was teh Main folder)
2) Re-verified integrity of game caceh

Finally it all worked. Once again I fail to see why fully removing those folders completely along with the rest of the program and folders didn't work in the past. But for whatever reason when I left the rest of the folders alone outside those above it seemed to finally take. No more mod main error and characters once again follow. Joy Joy. I was so close to writing off the game but now I am going to give it another go and hopefully I will not run into any other game breakers.

Here we are 11/1/2014 And this tether issue is still unresolved. As well as other issues... I don't have the time nor the patients to go into detail on the other 100+ bugs I have encountered. My party is level 3.. And so far this game is UNplayable in its current state. I have no hope left in this game. Due to how long it has been out now With little to no fixing post launch. Witch is sad because I am a HardCore Baldurs Gate fan . And this Looks Awesome.
Any ways How would one go about getting a refund for this game? It's literally unplayable with all the bugs. (gforce 770 4gb ram / i7 / 16 gigs ram / 500g SSD) It's not me... It's Reallllly not me.....
