Kickstarter Backer Code

Sorry if this is a repost, can't find anything on this issue.

First time loading up the game, and it asks for a "Kickstarter Backer Code".

I tried using the Steam key from Larian Vault but that says invalid.

I kickstarted to the level of getting 2 digital copiers, and have access to the beta, but....
Where do I find this particular key?

I just bought Divinity: Original Sin through Steam and when I booted it up, it asked me to create a profile name, then said I had a Kickstarter Backer Code. I read that I have to retrieve it through the Larian Vault so I went and registered there. I have no Steam link key, and I have no backer code. It also says I have "no games," even though I HAVE Divinity, I just didn't buy it off of Larian.

What IS this backer code? What does it do? Should I skip it? Is it worth finding out? Some more information would be nice.

As said above, it's only for backer on Kickstarter. It's nothing much, AFAIK the only thing not in the extra DLC you can get is getting your name in the credit and the potion which upon used give you a special achievement.

No. The Kickstarter code is just that, for people who backed the project on Kickstarter.

i just bought from steam without the DLC..
is the code important on the achievements and in-game?

No. It just adds a message on the main menu that it is the kickstarter version, a couple DLC items (also in the Source Hunter DLC or Collector's Edition) and if for people who backed at higher tiers some personal rewards (such as a 'message in a bottle' with a message they wrote for a co-op player to find in their game).

because of this code, i didn't proceed the profile earlier.. x_X
