More generic maybe. But I don't think if would be generic compared to other fantasy games.
The Divinity Games had always it's own style (or better Kirill pokrovskys style).
He seems to like Russian inspired classical music (he's Russian so no surprise) and new age stuff.
But he also has made metal music.

That's a good point.
I love that the music does really stand out compared to pretty much every other RPG out there.
It's actually really sad that so many big budget games (not only RPG) limit themselves by emulating the generic Action Movie Blockbuster Style (the same goes for Story and Cinematic Feeling of most games).
On the other side, the ingame soundtracks are absoluty stunning. I just love the ones where a woman is chanting
As a game composer myself, I can tell you it's possible to get the best of both worlds. The trick with composing game music is writing something that is both enjoyable to listen to, but also not entirely distracting. The Divinity track does this pretty well. It's long, not entirely complicated but still has peaks and valley where things "swell" and go back down to an atmospheric type score. Much like Mark Morgan or Jeremy Soule. But some games do call for an action blockbuster sound. It's just hard to sync the music as if it's a film (even with adaptable music like Deus Ex HR, which suffered as a result)
