Co-op and linking/following
In short, is it possible?

I drag my portrait to my friend's, but the chain just bounces back.
It's really annoying having to click in his footsteps when I could just be tagging behind him.

Something I'm missing or is it just a no-go?

EDIT: I forgot I made this thread. There is a way to do it but it's unorthadox to the proper way of playing the game. All you have to do is pause and assign all your characters to your friend/all your friends characters to you using the 'assign characters' option in the menu or something, and one player will be able to do all the movement.

Following do not work in coop. You can only make AI companions to follow player characters.

Damn, that's really annoying.

Thanks though!

That would be a neat option.

That would be a WoW option. The point of playing coop here is to be able to independently control your character while playing with a friend.

That's not a "World of Warcraft option", several games have it now. It's not a standard, but you're not making any point by saying it's somehow 'exclusive' to WoW alone.
World of Warcraft PvE is still co-op. You still independently control your character. You can still follow your teammate.

I can control my character at any given point, but by giving them the option to automatically follow a teammate so that I always don't have to click around the whole map offers simplicity, especially when the map is so large.

In short, you're not making any point or reason why it shouldn't be in the game other than "But WoW has it!"

Oh, no, you have to actually control your character.

I would like to have an option to afk a lil bit. My friend likes to rush ahead, and i dont have much time to figure out crafting. Or read a book. So dont play the smart guy pls =) It would be a neat option.

You could get the two teleporter pyramids, and give one to your friend. that way, all you have to do is "use" the pyramid and you'll be teleported to your friend.

Perhaps you could use the local chat function to tell your friend "hey, could you slow up for a minute, I want to do some stuff. Thanks."

I've been running into the same issues. Was looking for a mod or something, it's stupidly difficult to stick together in co-op compared to direct control games. You know, be able to hit a key to toggle moving in formation. It'd be a lot easier to stick together and actually trigger conversations together, particularly if there's no voice chat.

Check my main post, I've edited it with a 'solution'. It's probably the best you're going to get without someone creating a mod that allows it.
