Marodino's secret files(Opening hidden door) Spoilers

I am completely stooped on how to open the dam hidden door in Maordino's lab. I know it has something to do with a plain book and the pressure plates near the plants having weights on them. But the only books i find in the lair are Marodino's Cold Bones and the Witch and the Beast. There are no other books in the lair. I've checked everywhere i can think of. are you supposed to read the book in front of the door or where the planet is located in middle of the puzzle?

I spent a hour trying to figure this out and even from what I can find its fricken impossible to solve this puzzle to continue the Troll King questline. Which i need to use certain weapons to defeat Void Demons which i need to do to continue the main storyline... If this was a side quest i would have skipped it....

Look under guides. Someone has written up a nice one that will only reveal certain elements of the quest if click on the *spoiler* bar. I also don't know how anyone would have gotten past this without looking at the guide. There's absolutely no way that I've found that you would have known it.

I actually cheesed this by using Tactical retreat to jump over the wall, and then the pyramids to bring the rest of the party inside.

There IS NO PLAIN BOOK. I picked up all the books that I could see in the lair the only ones i could see were Cold Bones and the Witch and the Beast. Where exactly did you find this book?

Okay i finnally figured it out... old fake book switch trick lol. Your Guide Lordfish helped more than this nonesenscial prattle about reading an plain book. Thats not reading thats tripping a switch. You guys NEVER seen a spy movie or batman and he moves a book from the shelve to reveal a secret passageway. Thats not reading it thats moving it. I thought by the words you used i had to pick up a plain book and read it in front of the door. Confused the hell out of me.

3rd bookcase from the doorway you come in to the lab....there's a book hanging out and if you mouse over it the gears appear....click and secret door opens. The Lightning Bolt skillbook is on the table with a bloodshard and secret files book.
