Spoilers: Jahan and Balberith

I chose not to make the deal with Balberith, as in my experience nothing good ever came out of dealing with dark entities. But for some reason now Jahan has lost many skills and stuff, and even worse, seems like he lost his will.
Is this temporal? Part of the story? Some sort of result among others?
Please, I implore you to answer me but try to keep any important detail away.

I chose ignore/kill Balberith and encountered no issues with Jahan.

It might be a result from you either agreeing or disagreeing with jahan too much when he has something that he wants to say. Note though, I'm about 15% sure that that is the case, I'm probably wrong, but a theory's a theory.

Well here's the thing, in case someone searches for the same. If you start talking with the demon, inquiring about the forest spirit and whatnot, eventually this (or some other result) will occur. But if you choose the 2nd option, something like "Face me demon, .......................", the fight will trigger and apparently Jahan will stay the same old freak he always was.

Hm I have chosen to make the deal with him, primarily because I had already killed the other demon. As a result, Jahan gained close to 100.000 additional XP at the cost of having to reskill him, this means that you will have to relearn some of the spells, but you can keep 5 Water and Air skills of choice if you use the "Forget" option to remove all but 5 skills first.
