Key at the talking statues

There is a key in the brazier in front of the fire guy. What the hell does it unlock? Its just called 'key'. I assume there must be something where someone decided to burn his worldy possession. And its not the guy that burn his house so who is it?

There should be a chest around that area you can unlock with it.
