Men gamers get to watch their women jiggle and bend to their hearts' content.
There. Full equality. Everyone wins.
If either side starts complaining, they have the option to turn sexy armor off for the opposite gender, or their own gender, or all genders for a more realistic experience.
I would welcome this if it ever existed.
Freedom from free drinks, meals, houses, money, attention?
Must be horrible.
Having to choose between getting whatever you want or Big Macs, I can see why women cant stand it.
Surely with gender equality people will stop judging other people's looks or sexualizing them.
1. The "In 1600 they started to" post, well this ain't 1600 and you can't see so many firearms (agree loads of rapiers and pointy weapons) you should relate this kind of fantasy to a previous real era.
2. "300 the movie did it right" post, nope it didn't, spartiati (the actual 300ish were spartiati the rest, thousands, were servants or fighters from other cities) were not some sort of barbarians goin around chest naked, they were the upper class in Sparta and sported "pretty heavy" (and efficient) armors and weapons, unlike their servants and the majority of the Persian army.
3. Have to agree with OP the editing to appease the "puritans" wasn't very good, I'm one of the guys who like his warrior, male of female that it is, to be heavily armored (not with some yellow pullover) and scouts/rogues to be dressed properly, which doesn't mean 1/2 naked (you know cloth, silk, light leather work good) but not even wearing something that can make you go blind if you look at it.
EDIT: Dammit thou you could rob someone blind, that gives an whole new meaning for the colors! :D
It's going to have to be, but that doesn't mean people can't express their disappointment or opinions in general toward the matter.
Some of these posts have gone off on an tangent, including some of my own. My original point was that while the gender equality folks could have a point, Larian's dealing with the issue was less than desirable. From a purely aesthetic point of view (not a "what is realistic as armor" one), most can agree that the "fix" was not executed well.

They have been. In fact, they have been bemoaning the issue since the begining of the Kickstarter campaign when it was changed over a year ago. The game is released, the mod tools are available. I think we are past the complaining stage and on to the "if you or someone else hasn't changed it, then you don't care as much as you complain". /shrug
Yeap. It did. It's a known fact that mobility was important for them. Heavy armor makes you slow and clumsy.
The point remains: Sexualising men seems to be OK but a woman showing a belly button is the biggest sin of all.
Someone seriously needs to start a menism movement.
I want censored male characters!
Maybe the later armors are unchanged or better designed...that'd be a nice surprise.
Yeah... not
Spartans, just like most of the greek cities used the same kind of attire.
Soldiers used helmets, a chest piece, pants, leather skirts, etc
The red cape (which in real life wasnt long and clumsy) was used for moral puposes, as a man bleeding with a red cape wasnt a shocking as one without it, thefor less moral impact when your camarade is pelted by arrows or sliced away.

Far from the r.etarded leather underpants hulks that "300" used.
Making silly armors for men or women is silly in either way, and the "but this game contains magic, its not realistic" argument is silly, as one could say "why arent unicorns ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nukes from the sky?" The aswer would be the same, concistency.
Its the same reason as to why i also prefer to download nude mods for the raiders in fallout NV, because censoring (in that case, silly magic pijamas) can be as bad as stupid "revealing armor"
... are you serious?
Please tell me you are joking.
Larian doesn't need to listen to anybody. They are creators and if you liked their product - you'll buy it. But sadly they listened to complainers (I bet half of them don't even bought the game) and censored female armors. Hell, at one point they even discussed removal of high hells, because of some idiots on the forum...
Sorry for my terrible English
