[Spoilers] Solving the puzzles in immaculate cathedral logically (Infiltrating the Immaculate)
Spoilers abound, but there's some logic to the madness in this area at least. Hopefully this helps explain the "solution" to the puzzles in the immaculate cathedral.

Opening the altar:
Find the librarian (west part of the cathedral up some stairs) and ask about the alter. She'll tell you to look behind pillars. Lo and behold there's a lever (sitting on the ground by some foilage) behind a pillar.

Under the alter, getting into locked room:
First thing involves finding the switches (which the rat in the room hints the presence of).

Next involves reading all the books in the room, of which one in particular talks about "Rare secrets to open a hidden world of success" by "E.N.S. West". Suspicious isn't it?

This turns out to be the order to press the switches (at the 3 walls, + 1 at the entrance stairs) with a twist. Notice the compass by one of the switches - the orientation of N/E/W/S is relative to this giant compass on the floor, not your own map compass. Press the switches in the order described and the door should open.

Hi,

I don't find the book you mentioned. Is it in the basement of the cathedral ? My hero has a perception of 12. Is it enough ?

The book isn't hidden - and its along the opposite side from where you enter the room. Just that the title looks innocuous (something about cooking...)

One is right infront of you as you walk down the stairs, it's near the ground. One at the middle wall, and the other 2, I think you found those, they're easy to find.

The weight? I think you're talking about a different puzzle room, the trial room right?

first room you enter gives you the rot the second room you need to put weight on 4 pressure plates to remove the forcefield walls

It's a totally different puzzle than the one we're talking about here. Anyway, to help you out, place these items according to its size from small to big (1, 2.5, 5 and 7.5 kg).

I placed my guitar, one hander weapon, vase, heavy box. You will see the text *click* if it's the correct weight.

The book is called "The Necronomicon of Cooking."

I read the book, got the clue, figured out the puzzle, saw the funky compass when I walked in (I thought maybe my game was bugged at first) BUT....I can't find the switch near the entrance. I found the rest.

It's irritating, much like quite a few of the puzzles, like the Black Cove one, where the switch is really hard to spot. I only got that one because I tried to steal the painting.

It's a bit annoying figuring out that I have to press the switches in whatever order, and then not being able to find the actual switches!

Ok I found it. For everyone else, look at the compass on the ground. At the point that says west, it is there, about 3 metres from the edge of the compass.

What happens next is...entertaining.

Hello, in case you are a lower level when fighting the boss on the second level. This is something you could consider trying http://i.imgur.com/TEpRLYAs.jpg in this Pic I decided to create a wall that would keep them from charging me head on. They can still cast spells and projectiles but, with your level be it 12 or 11 you can still take hits. start by placing all four chars in this manner from melee in front to range in the back. Hopefully you have some summons If you do this will help in keeping the boss in place and also adding a negative armor debuff. The trick is to summon everything before starting the fight and then getting one of your party members to step inside preferably a range character. Kill main boss then slowly move your team into the room and keep summons in front to keep targets on them then slowly kill them 1 at a time.
