Talent: Weatherproof
Can anyone give more details on how this talent works. Requires 5 in Geomancer magic, got it. Says makes you immune to environmental effects. Is this just from burning, poison, lightning stun, freeze, chill, warm? Can't seem to find any direct list anywhere as to what is effected by it or not and if its worth getting.

I would have to do the extra action points for geomancer, but I gladly will if anyone can help explain in more detail what it can and can't do for me. Thanks :)

Not sure about the ones you listed as many can be offensive spell effects. I would think things like chilled, warm, wet and slowed in the spider area. Most of those simply make you more suseptible (sp?) to the next level of effect I think. Bit of an advantage if you are struggling in combat but I don't know exactly how useful it would be. Maxing a skill lets you memorize any number of spells in that line which is a much better reason to do it than a dubious combat advantage.

think what's in the environment. fire fields, ooze(that green stuff), steam clouds, poison clouds smoke clouds, water pools ect ect. you are immune to the effects of those areas while reducing the ap cost of skill associated with that element.

for example, if you are standing in a fire field (area that would normally cause you to burn and deal fire damage just by walking in it) you would have reduced ap cost for all fire spells while not being set on fire.

I assumed it means exactly what it says. You'd be immune to "environmental effects".

So you would not be immune from the burn effect of a fireball an enemy tosses at you, but you WOULD be immune to the burn effect caused by walking across burning oil.

And you would not be immune to the shock effect tossed by an enemy Aeromancer, but you WOULD be immune to the shock effect caused by entering a charged cloud.

You would not be immune to the poison of an enemy tossing poison darts at you, but you would be immune to the poison effect of moving through a poison cloud.

It seems pretty straightforward to me. You don't get general global immunity to any negative effects, you get immunity to those same effects whenever they are being caused by the environment. That's how i read it. Don't have it yet though, so have no idea if I am assuming correctly.

I think its kinda similar to elemental affinity I guess, depending on the terrain you are standing on

Youi'd think so, but having the talent myself, it doesn't protect you from damaging field like ooze, fire, lava.. ect.. tho I think it protect you from the warm effect of sand, and chill from snow.. like I'm not getting chilled in Hiberheim, and never had the warm issue in the sand area that seem to affect enemies, still burn and in my case heal in poison fields.

Maybe it effects the enviroment debuffs, like the -AP in the sandstorm

Yea sadly it only works on weather effects, not "Envionrmental Effects" if you get what I'm saying.

Like in Hiberheim you won't be chilled, in the desert, you won't be slowed by the sandstorm, etc, but you will still be slowed by oil, you will still take burning damage, you can still slip on Ice, electrified things will still stun you.

will weatherproof protect you from burning from the self-immolation spell which creates a circle of fire on the ground around you??
