Talking Statues?

How do I progess in this I can't seem to find the statues for my life.

They are in the north-west corner of a map.
They guard the most evil and disgusting thing that ever existed... anywhere and anytime.

Can you actually solve the quest prior to leaving Cyseal? The only hint I found as to how to complete it is some dialog from a chicken (I think) who said the statues would be pleased if someone mastered all four elements--which makes me think you won't be able to complete the quest until you've got max. stats in all four elemental skills, or something.

It's easy to complete the quest when you first get there.

The town itself or a map? No, youll have to use magic on them

Hm.... my memory is that when you speak to the statues, each one tells you a lie, and you can counter by giving evidence of an NPC who was told the same lie, but the statues just say "oh, but for YOU I'm telling the truth. Promise." And the quest was still active. Was there something else to do, or did I experience a bug where the quest completion failed to trigger?

One thing I did notice as odd was that there was no fourth watcher statue. It was something called "anger" and its dialog was unrelated to the other three.

EDIT: I meant the map. So will any magic do, or does it need to be offensive magic?

well all of the statues give hints at how to progress in the thread, one particularly gives almost says you directly what to do, just read it^^.

they said that they need to be freed with their elements, so just take spellcaster / scroll-wielder and attack the statues with their element (attack fire with a flare or fireball, earth with a poison dart or boulder, water with a freezing / chilling chard and air with lightning.

one of the statues shows you the futuroe or rather ending of your adventure...watch it ;). also in the cave they guard is a person which talks are more or less an easter-egg, i loved it^^.

Sure there was, you need to cast magic on them, while exposing their lies is just for lolz.
