i may of messed up the murder investigation

as i was exploring town i found myself at the grave yard shortly after talking with the legion captin, i dug up the sheep and then proceded to the mortician, things got heated when i was trying to convince roberts of my authority to dig up a corpse in the name of justice and he accidently fell on my sword two or three times.

now i am stuck, i have done the little bo bertia quest butcan`t seam to progress any further i went back to the morticians after seeing the discustion between bertia and the captin and found a legion trooper there making a comment about a vigialante taking the law into his own hand but now i have no where to go and no lines of investigation to follow as i already talked to jakes wife about the letter from the duke.

do i need to start again, i assume with a game so free in what it let`s you do shouldn`t lock me out so easily.

Did you find the knife in esmereldas basment? If not get that then talk to her she will point u tword eveyln and you will be on your way.

Try finding a few (3, from memory) incriminating items in the dead person's wife's house and talking to her about them, you should then get pointed in the right direction.

They made sure that even if you literally kill every npc in the game you can still complete it, lol

So if at any point you think you might be stuck, you're almost certainly not :)

there are MANY ways to solve the murder... and if you've played the first area enough or get the need to break into every home to take everything you can sell, you will accidently find ALL the ways to solve the murder =P

Just remember to talk to Evelyn first so you can get access to the henchmen section of your homestead, otherwise you'll be stuck till much later in the game.

And I find that Cyseal is almost impossible to be helped without being a Rogue and sneaking in every house, I'm curious to see if there is a way to help the town without spying on everyone and stealing them everything on earth.

Anyway as everyone said you have much more investigations to do about the murder to solve it.

There is. I did it with a knight and enchanter with no problems. You just have to talk to the non-humans, particularly the canine variety for another solution.

How do you do this? Because from what I remember, touching anything = stealing.

thanks guys i managed to get back on track, i split my party and distracted esmeraldas body guard got the eveidance then went from there, the rat in the cellar was nice enough to point out the secret switch. if theres one thing i love about this game it`s talking to animals if i had known i would be doing it so much i would of called my wayfarer dolittle

Everyone can sneak and steal easily.

you just have to be aware of NPC sight radius, i didn`t know you could distract them with another character at first
