i just quote from a old thread i created to explain this:
"I just found my first unique item.. i thought legendary would be the "higehst tier" of items.. but DAMN IT. Unique 2hand sword 117-159damage, 50firedmg, + several nice stats. "Sword of the holy flame" is its name. Did you guys found any other unique weapons yet?

The sword has a little "text" under its description.. i think its a reference to the dragon commander game of larian or another divinity game. It says something about being the sword of some dragon commander and it traveled back in time :P

So yes.. what it means.. there are some unique items in the game you can find if you have the luck :) Some more guys answered to the thread that they found different unique items aswell.. one of it was Peter Lee's sword from Japan.

I found both of these swords - the holy flame one and peter lee's sword from japan ;)

I put them both into my stash in the homestead because the sword that I crafted for my fighter is way better than both of them.

I've solved the riddle to this weapon. Peter Lee's sword is a reference to a youtube video where a TV Salesman is showing off a particularly fragile katana, which breaks after the salesman hits it on the table. The Youtube channel that posted the video is called "Peter Lee".

There's another unique sword like this, but you need to find and combine both parts to make it via crafting: buffalo amulet + old saber = Buffalo Saber. It's a sports team reference and can have good damage for its item level but unfortunately doesn't have anything else in the way of stats.

The Holy Flame sword can be a good one depending on when/where you find it, but uniques in this game aren't necessarily meant to be 'better' - just unique.
