therse a walkthrough here http://guides.gamepressure.com/divinityoriginalsin/guide.asp?ID=25137
but it only covers the first part of the game
The journals are useless. They give you no information. Would be nice if they would at least tell you if you need to go to west/south/east/north...but no. Nothing.
Example: "Please go find my dog" Ok, gotta find the dog. My journals just updated so maybe there's some info. Open journal and it says: "I have to find a dog" - Wow, no ♥♥♥♥ journal. Thanx captain obvious!
I don't want questmarkers. But it would be nice to know where you're supposed to look. Should i go east of the town or west ? Where did you last see your dog ? Anything ?
Information is barely given.
Oh, lighthouse ? Mind telling me in which direction the lighthouse is ??? Nope.
NPCs live in the city but they can't tell you in which direction anything is...really ?
I mean it's a great game and i barely have any problem with it (have found everything so far) but some information is required. Atm the journal is totally pointless.
EDIT: It's just blind exploring. It has nothing to do with "figuring out the quests" or "brain usage". No, you just walk around the maps and every once in a while you just stumble upon something you needed.
I disagree, you're generally given enough information to be able to figure things out. Need to find a body? The morgue or cemetary are probably good places to check. If a quest is still unclear then often it's because you missed something.
But to be fair then the areas are quite small. Areas around Cyseal...there isn't really many places to go. The map isn't that big.
Would be bigger problem in Baldur's Gate one. Your quest target might be in the 5 maps away from you in a tiny cave. If you don't get any directions about that then you would be really screwed...here, the map is relativly small so i guess it isn't that big of a deal.
+ in D: OS you can't access areas untill you're at a certain level. You can access them but you just get slaughtered.
I totallyagree there, I am an RPG fan, played massive ammount of RPG, some oldies some new and this game lacks in that department, it should at least give you minor direction rather than let you waste time exploring only, look at Baulders gate, neverwinter nights, first dragon age and The elder scrolls you can explore as much as you want but at least you know where to go when you want to do main story quests!
I do prefer quest markers, as I have limited time playing games and I am getting on a bit, but so far I am not finding this a problem, especially these days with the internet there is help if you need it. The problem with me I tend be very focused when playing games I tend stick to set objectives, rather than just mess about or exploring. I like to clear side quests before main quests but this game is more variety, but I am enjoying this game as I am old school gamer.
But if you are modern gamer I can see why this my put you off.
Old school RPGs gave you directions. Baldur's Gate being a very good example.
