Is Rock Paper Scissors rigged?
I've only just started the game and had 2 sets of these (once against the crowd warmer and once against the Victoria) I lost both times, there never seems to be a tie which at best means that every time you choose they choose after without being able to choose the one you did, which is broken already. Also I did put a point into charisma right away meaning I should have an advantage convincing people, still lost both times. Really annoying just auto failing two quests already because of this.

There are almost always multiple ways to complete quests. Try different things :)

Charisma only helps to increase the amount of "points" you get when you win a rock paper scissor game. And well, it varies. There are times when you feel like the AI is literally contering you, and times when you feel the AI isn't trying very hard to win his argument lol.

Its not rigged, its just to random, and a bad mini-game. Shouldn't base this kinda thing on randomized minigames.

If you're pissed off enough at losing these arguments you can just press F5 to quick save when the rock paper scissors thing pops up, and if you fail just press F8 or load from the menu and try until the game decides it's not gonna be a piece of ♥♥♥♥.

If you press space to skip it it's resolved as a pure statbased roll, should you prefer that.

I might start doing the quicksave thing. And sometimes the "other"ways to complete quests I'm not too keen on. Like murdering Victoria because she wont give me her amulet to save her life.

Some of the rock paper scissors matches feel like they have patterns, for me Victoria literally cast scissors every single time. After about 2-3 turns I can predict the next one, some seem more complicated / truly random though.

Every single rock paper scissors game seems to have a pattern to me. The NPC seems to just alternate between 2 different choice over and over so once i figure it out i can just manipulate it. I noticed this maybe 4 RPS games ago and its held true since then other than on one occasion when Rogers threw in a random scissor after alternating rock and paper. I don't know if I'vw lost a single RPS game and that feels weird to me.

Better off using space bar imo. You seem to lose more than you win without it.

It's 100% rigged.

In a real RPS game, there's a decent chance that both players will throw the same sign. However, the AI will never ever throw the same sign as you, which makes it very obvious that it's simply responding to your input rather than selecting a random sign.
LeftPaw Jul 4, 2014 @ 6:07am
I have not won a game yet, defiantly rigged. :)
Sugar Jul 4, 2014 @ 6:14am
Not sure if this is true but I follow the patterns that real humans use when playing RPS and I do pretty well. That is, people are likely to use the same thing again if they win that round and to use to opposite thing you used if you win (scissors for example if you just won with paper). Of course it could just be chance, but it works out pretty well for me doing that.

If that is the case mind explaining how I lose against Victoria yet totally trashed the crowd warmer?

If it is rigged, I should have lost the game like how when I play against Victoria.

It's not rigged as in "you always lose". It's rigged in that what the AI plays is not random.

Just because you won one time and lost the other doesn't mean it's not rigged.

No it doesn't, it just always lets the NPC win. I've had higher stats then the NPC many times and found skip always lets the NPC win.
