Headless Nick quest help

Just wondering if any of you guys know how to complete headless nick quest without killing the NPC? I failed "warming the crowd quest" and I didn't save it. I cannot figure out how to talk to the head without killing the NPC and his spectators. Any tips?

I think you can either use invisibility potion or there's apparently a way you can kill him without being detected by the guards if you stand inbetween the packages behind him.

I just slaughtered them all..
Didn't affect anything else in the town.
Got a hit to reputation , not bothered though, since ive lost more trying to steal from the legion (misclicked on chests)

You can do it peacefully:
1. Talk to a second performer - Cedric - he'll ask for your help to attract more spectators for him.
2. Go to Reginald - he'll tell you that he uses a crowd warmer.
3. Look around for a guy named Gallagher - he's running and yelling something.
4. Talk to Gallagher and offer him to work for Cedric - he'll accept it. Gallacher and all the crowd will go to Cedric.
5. Tell Reginald about it - he'll also run to Cedric, leaving Nick's head.
6. Take the head.

Yup, but make sure to save before talking to Gallagher because you will have to pass a speech check.

Is there anyway to do this quest if you failed the speech check AND you don't want to kill anyone (ie peacefully). I've tried to sneak, use invisibility, and stack boxes to block crowds view. I've also talked to the guards with three of my group and used my rouge to try and grab the skull. Nothing works. Anyone found a way to do it?

No. You can however attempt to go as far away as possible and then teleport the guy that found the head and stealth kill him.. reduces casualties..

This works, just throw the bomb on stage and grab the head.
