To kill, or not to kill, that is the question.

Would anyone who has finished this quest going the arrest route recommend it? Saving up and pouring points into pickpocket to achieve this seems a bit on the expensive side as opposed to simply killing him and using those points in something else.

Edit: I'm not asking for spoilers, just wondering if it is worth it or not.

I was able to charm Victoria into giving me her thing. Didn't need to pickpocket anyone.

im at the moment working on getting him arrested, but i need to find a proof or else the legion captain will not do it.

I managed to arrest him, though I had to hold off on finishing that quest for a while. I still can't say if it's worth it, as there is no reward(that I've seen anyway), as compared to simply killing him and getting to loot his body.

If you dont kill him and bring him Victoria's Amulet (either by conversation or by killing her) he gives you a reward chest with rather high leveled items

Okay, that seems the way to go for this quest then.

Well, best way to solve this I found was:
Go to Victoria and get her amulet with charm
walk to the captain and try to get him arrested for extra points (you have no proof)
then go back to Eglandaer and give him the amulet for the chest....
and as he tries to walk away stab him in the back, kill him and take his loot too

how does he spawn ?
Eglandaer I mean
he have only spawned 2 times out of my 12 plays, I have no clue that cause him to spawn in that room, but he is not there most of the time, as I said I only seen him 2 times
