Not sure if this counts as spoiler, but I marked it down below anyway.
You need to activate each element it represents until a fire appears above each of the 4 pillars in each room. A enemy will then be spawned in each room and 2 trap doors will appear that will take you to some nice loot.
i had to zoom in with my mouse scroll to place one of them because of that very reason
I don't recognize the symbols on the pillars. I think the flame is pretty obvious but what for the leaf, the one looking as a cloud and the last one?

You need to use the order from the opposite cave when you press the buttons. So in the north cave you use the directions from the tombstone in the south cave, and in the southern one the directions from the tombstone in the north.
Your character will say 'I've got a good feeling about this lever' every time you hit the next correct button in the sequence'. Otherwise they say a different line at random like 'I wonder what that did'.
