I can't get passed the Guardian
Someone help me; After 30 minutes of burning / whacking / explosive-arrowing The Guardian, he is still at half health, and I have lost my will to continue playing this game! The overwhelming boredom and monotony is making me question all the years I have devoted to video games!

There is a scripted way to beat him, he is meant to be almost unbeatable in direct combat. Do you want it spoiled?

That is genius! But alternatively and more directly spelled out by the game:

the immaculate you meet with a tame shambling mound tells you about and drops a wand that instantly kills the guardian! Though it also gives you rot, as it is tenebrium

I also wasted a long time fighting this monster because it is not spelled out that you are meant to beat it indirectly. THough I don't recall being quite so hyperbolic - i just assumed i was underlevelled for it :p

Must have skipped that dialouge hah :)

easily skippable, it requires a conversation minigame win. Perhaps it is only dropped if you win the conversation and I assumed it was auto-drop. I admit I savescum that minigame.

Your quote has immortalised my sleep deprived spelling. xD

Hahaha, damn! I never got that dialogue, I must have done something wrong. I ended up just fighting the jerk, it took about 10 minutes (if that). I just summoned a fire elemental, then had my mage cast fire spells each turn.

I play as two Lone Wolf characters, so I can't imagine that a normal party of four would take 30 minutes+ to beat him.

well i take 2 turn to backstab him with my rogue and 1 wiz lone wolf glass canon and he is dead
i play hard mode btw =_=

If you place 15 barrels of oil and poison in a semi-circle and lure him into it and blow it up, it will take out about 70% of his health on hard difficulty.

Nah - if you lose the minigame and defeat her, she drops the wand. Or at least, did for me. I Examined the Guardian, saw the resistances, went "WTF?" and then remembered the wand. It did 24000 damage :-)

Bairdottr has the tenebrium skill and can use the wand safely. If you have not done the mines yet then members without the skill will get rot handling the wand.

He is not invincible in combat. I beat him easily in direct combat but it took too long almost 1 hour to took him down. This game easily eat most of my time for that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ combat design lol
