Healing amount?
So I just started playing, and one of my characters has minor heal. I notice when he went from level 1 to 2, the amount that the spell heals increased even though I hadn't allocated any points. I was just wondering if there was a formula for increase in spell damage/healing based on level, or is something else possibly causing the increase in heal?

i could be wrong but i think the amount is based on allocation of attrbutes as well so a wizard with high inteligence spells are more powerful, or it can come from gear bonuses as well. rather just from putting more points into hydrophist etc

The amount you heal is based on INT for mage classes. In fact, all your spells (dps spells) will improve as you increase your int.

Your skill level in the school of magic (aero, geo, hydro, pyro, witch) has no effect on the strength of the spells.

I, too, have noticed that my spells (and summons) increase in power when I level up (without increasing intelligence). Does anyone know the forumla for determining spell damage/power, etc.? How about for non-mage skills? I looked at the manual but didn't see the information there.

It's also based on your level. Even if you don't level up your INT.

This is true for all skills (of all schools). Higher levels in the correct schools can further reduce the ap cost to use said skill. All skills are used at the same level as your characters are. So that Minor Heal will still be useful at later levels.

This also helps with branching out into different schools of magic for 1 point, just to pick up the powerful low level magics (which are cheap to use in ap even without high levels in the school).

For int chars:
Oath in Witchcraft.
Minor heal in Water.
Haste in Fire.
Spider in Earth.

For dex chars:
Chaems in Scoundrel and Marksmanship
Jumps in Scoundrel and Marksmanship
Self haste in Scoundrel.

There are several more, just have a looksie.

Not quite.

What higher levels does is reduce or elimate the AP cost penalty for being under-skilled. The base AP cost cannot be lowered.
