A definitive how-to for killing Boreas?
I have been through several forums and guides on this and the things I have found there don't seem to pan out in game. I am at level 12, having gone through Silverglen and Hiberheim. (I've checked walkthroughs and haven't missed enough exp to matter.) The only dmg I can do to him is physical dmg and I can't do enough dmg fast enough to take him out. I have read that killing the statues nullifies Boreas' resistance to that element, but I have not found that to be so in-game. I have also read that Boreas is easy because he has few HP. I hit him with good stuff and his health bar barely moves. This does not look like low HP to me. I've been knocking out bosses without too much trouble until now.
Also, somebody said to hit him twice with voodoo dolls and he was done for. Again, my attempt resulted in very little movement on his health bar.
Dates on the posts look like they were posted after the commercial release, so I don't think I am reading beta posts.

So, what's the story?

Boreas' resistances are tied to the statues, you can use the statues yourself for an elemental shield or break them to negate his resistance (though he's still immune to the main element he's currently wielding I believe) though you need to do this during the fight for it to trigger I believe.

You're also a bit low level, though not too low.

Boreas' main weakness is blind, blind means he won't summon minions or attack you and will just be a punching bag until he dies, you can also reliably stun him if you use drain willpower and then shocking touch on a character with decent intelligence. Boreas also takes full damage from the teleport spell (crushing damage) and you can use your mage to cast oath of desecration and wildfire on your physical damage dealer while keeping Boreas blind/stunned.
you can cheese the fight by keeping someone out of combat and then run aroujnd wacking the statues, unless they fixed that

Thank you! Those were good hints. It was still a tough fight, but I got him.

Also, having the "destroy summon" skill really helps.

Not particularly, most summons can be more effectively negated by the apropriate counter-summon and boulder bash, destroy summon costs far too much AP to be worth it as the double fragment thingies he summons are far more dangerous than the elementals.

you can kill a summon in less ap than it takes to use destroy summon? I usually use MY summons to tank/kill fragments and the boss, and just instakill his summon.

The idea is you use your AP not on one target but on all of them, hitting boreas and all his summons instead of just one. You can also creatively disable them, for example you can use firefly (5 ap) to surround an ice elemental in fire and block off terrain from the other enemies at the same time, disabling the elemental and controlling space for much less AP while you set up larger aoe effects or just wear everything down with fireball or similar spells, you get way more utility and damage out of your AP this way.

It's also far superior to counter a summon with your own summon rather than using destroy summon, as that's actually cheaper in AP and if you make a counter-summon you can not only easily destroy the enemy summon but also have it take some extra hits and hit some other enemies.

Basically, the AP cost for destroy summon is higher than the AP cost for summoning, so it's never really ever worth using.

Censuur, you're forgetting you can only have one summon. I agree having a summon is awesome for all the reasons you've mentioned, and if i could have a character summon 2 different ones i would. But if i already have a summon out, i can't summon another, so why not put the summon to work elsewhere while instakilling an enemy?

When I was killing him, i left 3 characters on the stairs, closest to the entrance. It looks like he doesn't cover those stairs with fire, ice, etc.

Resummoning your summon resets it's spell cooldown, you can summon an ice elemental every turn for 1 more AP than using piercing ice shard and that gets you a piercing ice shard plus an attack and some fresh hitpoints and it leaves a patch of ice where it dies when a new one is summoned, giving you additional terrain resources to use.

I noticed that in this fight, each time you lose to the King, the next time you try to fight against him (by loading last save) it's slightly easier. It gets progressively easier after each loss.
For example, I noticed that he summoned less often and seemed to attack less and made mistakes like moving through areas where my fighter got attacks of opportunity, and he was less elusive, often moving right in front of characters (as if to be hit).

i just got to close combat with him... everytime he got hit he ran around the place getting all attacks of opportunity from my warrior and undead decapitator. He was done in 4 turns :D

I beat Boreas first time through blinding him plus I had two 2H warriors using Rage+Oath+Flurry to take him out quickly.

This time I am just getting destroyed within three turns, things seem to have changed and i need some definitive help on how to disable him and stop his summons. Within only one 2H warrior, the oath+rage+flurry combo nerfed and Wolgraf unable to conentrate backstabs due to Boreas moving around when hit I can do only do roughly 200 damage to Boreas per turn which means I require 20 turns of uninterupted hits to take him down.

I can blind him but this does not seem to stop him summoning anymore. I cannot survive the first set of summons.
