Divinity 2 Director's Cut?
I was looking at the store page for Divinity 2 Director's Cut last night and it looks quite interesting. I know it isn't similiar to D:OS, but...is it playable and, more importantly, is it fun?

I realise that many answers will be subjective, but am curious to hear thoughts.

Been a bit naughty by posting here, but it is busier :)

DKS; the actualy play is very different than D:OS. It is very playable and by far my fav divinity game. I personally found it more enjoyable than D:OS and thought it had more meaningful progression (my view might change in a year after D:OS receive some more patches - as I played DKS after it was fully patched and enhanced). The topic of DKS (Dragon knight saga also known as Divniity 2 director's cut) has been discuss previously in this forum and it is very subjective - I'm not the only one who prefered it to D:OS but there are others you think D:OS is the better game.

I can tell you it's a very good game. You definitely have to give it a shot, even though it's quite different from D:OS.

Thanks everyone :)

OK, just had a little play with the demo..looks like a goer for me :)

I do have one decision to go for. Just this one, or the anthology (3 Divinity games, including D2) for an extra 5 quid?

Dive Divinity has the detail of Ultima, the atmosphere of Planescape Torment and the action of Diablo.

Its a gem.

beyond divinity takes a little getting used to, basically you play as two characters like in DOS except it's real-time-with-pause not turn based... so it gets... interesting...

Divine divinity 100% worth though

Pretty sure you mean Developer's Cut.....;) A "Director's Cut" doesn't exist. Funny how the mind associates... Lots of people say "director's" even as they are looking at the word "develope's"...I guess it is because the word "cut" is so closely associated with "director" in movie parlance--"developer", not so much. I spent two hours searching for the "Director's Cut" when a Larian employee was nice enough to set me straight...

Beyond Divinity is a terrible game, I think even by Larian's admission in an interview somewhere -- the others are gems. In any case, I wouldn't play it first.

A lot of Divinity fans don't like Dragon Knight Saga (now called Divinity II) I think because it is more Skyrim-esque (I could be wrong). I adored the game and its unique story and combat -- but then I like Skyrim. The music scores are about the best I've heard in a non-AAA game. As well, while I am less a fan of more childish dialog like in D:OS, I smiled several times in Divinity -- there is just a really good balance in the writing in my opinion.

Divinie Divinity has some of the best dungeon crawling and is a unique, somewhat challanging and fun experience. It is a little slower-paced than D:OS but the rewards are well worth it if you stick with it.

That's fine. Some people liked it, I've seen forum threads go either way -- I personally couldn't play it (as in I quit it, not technically speaking) and oh, I found the interview though it really doesn't go into detail about the game.

"And then we did Beyond Divinity, which was not our proudest moment, but it saved the company..." --Swen; The publishers were part of the problem.
