[Solved] Blue screen after few minutes of play...
This game makes my computer reboot every time i try to play it, cause to a blue screen after few minutes of play (about 15 or 20 minutes where everything runs fine).
I'm on windows 7 x64, i have a GeForce GTX 580, my graphic drivers are up to date, i tried to lower the graphics, windowed mode, nothing helps !
Great, i just can't play...

Issue found thanks to Zloth : The limit framerate option was unchecked, making the game running at a ridiculous framerate making the graphic card overheat

have tried previous drivers (rollback), what dx are you on.is it in specific areas or always different?

What you are describing seems like an os/hw issue, can you check temps?Have you verified cache from steam?

Thanks for your response :) Yes i have tried previous drivers version, dx 11 installed. It crashes randomly, no commons situations between blue screens. I agree on the issue, i belive it's a driver compatibility problem with the game engine. What do you mean by cache from steam ?

I had exactly the same problem. What company is your GTX 580 from?

I used MSI Afterburner. Found the bad guy, that causes to crash, coz the volt settings were absolut wrong. Tried to fix that, but self the standard settings for my card crashed it.

Mine is from Zotac, so i downloaded their Firestorm Fan Control, where i can choose my Model and everything runs fine.

Maybe your Model needs also a Fan Control from their Company?

Also you can try to close all unecessary background programs. Can u tell us what the heat is after 10 minutes for example?

Hummm that sounds right, i think my 580 manufacterer is asus, not sure about that tough. I run a lot of thing on my computer : dual screens and lots of programs in background, anyway i run other games that are more graphics heavy like Wolfenstein NO or Watch_Dogs at maximum graphics quality without any issues and my computer i well ventiled, if it was a heat problem i should have problems with other games too right ?

Is this only occurring during the gameplay, if so, sounds like it is a heating issue. If this happens when the system is on and during basic usuage, then a driver issue. Do you have the error message when your system performs the BSOD? Here is a guide that should provide insight once you identify the error message associated with the crashes: http://www.maximumpc.com/article/features/blue_screen_death_survival_guide_every_error_explained?page=0,0

No, coz every codes different and a game can have leaks for thi ssoundcard or that graphiccard. This is a small company, with limited budget from crowdfunding.

I would just turn off what is not realy needed to play the game.
I play with full settings at max, and have only Smart Security, Steam, NVIDIDA Panel, AIDA64 and Firestorm for the Fancontrol on.

And of course it can be a heat Problem of an setting that leads your Graphiccard to work in a weird way. Can be misscoded or a bug. Just check the heat to be sure. Cost no money. :O)

Blue screen = your Computer is broken
it can be your ram,
your cpu,
your gpu
or even your motherborad

also your computer might over heat and shut down, you might wannt check your temperature.

According to the last comment on this video this kind of error is provoqued by many types of problems. On his case the guy had graphic card overheating issue, but actually i'm not, this problem occurs only while playing Divinity, others games with much higher graphics requirements are working perfectly fine (like Watch_Dogs or Wolfenstein New Order) so it doesn't makes sense :/

Who is the manufacturer of your GeForce GTX 580? Is this a custom built system or big box, if it is big box, who is the manufacturer and what is the model number? When did this start happening and how long have you been playing Dvinity? Last semi-easy potential fix, did you do a system restore back to a couple days before this issue occurred?

Quick web search shows not always a GPU temp issue. One sufferer had to flash BIOS to stop it.

First try to check the game integrity on steam library, to do so go to the library, right click in the game go in properties, click in the local files tab, and click in check files integrity button ( i think its that name). If that dont work for you, try to uninstall the physx driver (only the physx) that come with nvidia and try play again, on other game i had some issues with it.
