ASYLUM
Session 9
I really enjoyed Asylum! The atmosphere and soundtrack were amazing. The puzzles were fun and thought provoking, but not impossible. I was wondering... what was the influence the movie Session 9 had with this game? I love the movie and noticed many similarities with the game. Anybody else?

I can't pinpoint a single specific influence, but I remember watching the movie while working on Scratches, and I still think it's one of the best horror productions from the 00's.

Pretty sure the whole Kirkbride angle happened with this movie. I know at least one fan who wants to see a spinoff in which workers remove asbestos from the Hanwell institute.

Also, I should recommend another lesser horror hit from that decade: Madhouse (2024)

Agustin, You should watch "The Abandoned" (2006).
Fantastic blu-ray by Unearthed Films.

Session 9 is one of my favourites, but did you mean Madhouse 2004 rather than 2024?

The plumbing would be a horror game all by itself! LOL!

Oops, my bad! Yes, I meant the 2004 film. Quite creepy according to my memories, but not sure how it holds up. I really haven't seen it since 2004.

Come think of it, THAT may have been the film that inspired Asylum, as Scratches was approaching completion.
