Divinity: Dragon Commander Beta

Divinity: Dragon Commander Beta

Divinity: Dragon Commander "Beta" ?
Hello, quite some time ago I bought Divinity: Dragon Commander, when it was still in beta, and now it seems like it's stucked in the "beta" version. So can someone tell me how to upgrade to the full version?

If you bought the game directly from Steam you should have an entry in your library for Divinity: Dragon Commander (without the 'beta' at the end). There were a bunch of Steam keys for just the beta given away, which of course can not be upgraded to the full game... I don't think anyplace that had pre-orders gave separate beta and full version keys, but if you didn't get the game directly, check with where you bought it.

May be it is time to remove the beta version of the game? it is confusing, and there is no benefit from it.

Just opened a 4-pack, and I also have the Beta game in my library. This should be removed or put in the proper beta access options.

If you got your keys via the Larian Vault then you should find in your account another Key for the main game.

If you got your key via a KeySeller / Trader. Then sorry either you did not read carefully what you where buying or the seller was a fraud.

If you got your key via Steam then contact the Larian Support.

The beta is multiplayer only (you can play against AI, but just the multiplayer campaigns and skirmishes). The full game has a single player campaign (story, and custom, where you can choose a world map and skip the act structure of the story campaign).

Also, there were a bunch of updates and balancing changes made to the main game; the beta was not used/updated at all after the game's release.

Problem is that the Beta version has Steam Cloud whereas the Final one doesn't. >_>

So hows the "beta" coming along?

It has not been updated or officially used since the release of the game.

Well.... it's still there interestingly enough.
Thanks for answering BTW. What are you working on these days?

I'm personally doing the same as usual; Larian is working on 2 RPGs, primarily Divinity Original Sin 2, based on the same gameplay mechanics and engine as D:OS, with updates to both.
More info about D:OS 2 can be found on its Kickstarter page (now over).
I bought the first but only played a little, it seemed full of humor. I found this game to be much cooler, seems odd though everyone is making dragon games at the same time. That and open world survival/construction games. I wonder why everyone makes the same stuff at the same time. Before that it was urban racing games. Before that it was big FPS titles.

But I'm going way off topic. So I'll stop myself here.

An early plotline for D:OS had to be scrapped after another game was announced, since there were too many similarities (entirely coincidental, but it wouldn't look that way with D:OS coming out later). The story had already been changed from the original concept, and there were other significant changes during development (as usual).
