[GUIDE] List of lootable upgraded weapons and armor
Crafting things yourself requires a lot of skill points and costly/rare materials. So why bother when there are some awesome upgraded weapons for you to take from the cold dead hands of your enemies?

Here are a few:
_____________________

1. Iron Marculus (hammer) - Masterwork, Hardened edge

Found by killing Aemolas the refugee smith, who you can help enter Teron at the gates. Follow him to his house and demand the 1500 imperials he promised. You won't get the money, but will get something money can't buy: a cool upgraded weapon!

2. Iron Jambia (dagger) - Masterwork, Hardened edge

Found by killind Dias, the Boatsmen leading Assassin. One way to do so is betray the Boatsmen during the quest to kill the Aurelian spies. Dias will be sent to take you out. As there can be only one top dog in the assassin trade (namely you, of course), he'll end up loaning you his dagger indefinitely. However, by betraying the Guild this early, you're missing out some great loot later on (including a better dagger).

3. Iron Scimitar (sword) - Balanced!

Taken off the corpse of the Aurelian Guard captain at the Mining Outpost.

4. Mechanical Crossbow

Master Coltan tried to fight from a distance in a small room. Surprising decision for such an intelligent person.

5. Iron Khopesh (sword) - Masterwork, Hardened edge

Agatai tried to play the silent badass. Well, there's only one badass in this game. 27 men, you say? How about 53, and your khopesh is now mine too. The smith's hammer is still better, though.

6. Leather Ordu Armor - Masterwork

He won't need his earthly armor to be riding the heavenly khalasar.

7. Studded Leather Armor - Masterwork

Fulvio, you fool. You didn't even get the chance to fight.

8. Studded Leather Armor - Masterwork, Reinforced

Who's smiling now, Neleos?

9. Steel Pugio - Masterwork, Hardened Edge

Now this is a strong contender to replace the infamous marculus. Thanks again, Neleos. Working with the Boatmen has been a profitable exercise.

10. Mithril Praetorian Armor - Lightened, Masterwork

Found in Darius' Tomb. Thanks, urartu! This seems to be a really awesome armor.

11. Steel Jambia - Masterwork, Hardened edge

Hanza carries it, the Boatsmen consiglieri in Maadoran. Roughly on par with Neleos' dagger, but with different bonuses, imho better for a dodge build.

12. Mithril Jambia - Masterwork, Hardened edge

Found on Levir, head of the Thieves Guild in Maadoran. During the golden hoard quest it's possible to kill him, then the game just reloads in the same room, and you can loot the dagger from the still living Levir (bug). The quest itself, as far as I can see, is unsolveable by a pure fighter, but you do get the fancy dagger.

13. Steel Yatagan - Masterwork
14. Steel Shamshir - Masterwork

Miltiades delivers once again, this time masterwork steel. Seek him in Maadoran for a soul-draining but rewarding job. Can't wait to see what the guy has planned for the future.

15. Iron Manica - Masterwork, Hardened
16. Iron Trident - Masterwork, Hardened edge
17. Iron Phrygian Armor - Hardened
18. Iron Khandar - Masterwork, Hardened edge
17. Iron Lorica Segmentata - Masterwork, Hardened
18. Iron Hasta - Masterwork, Hardened edge
19. Iron Lamellar Ordu Armor - Masterwork
20. Steel Labrys - Masterwork, Hardened edge
21. Steel Auxiliary Armor - Masterwork, hardened
22. Steel Jambia - Masterwork, Hardened edge

Picked up from the sand of the Arena, stained by gladiator blood.

And now for the Champion stuff:

23. Mithril Lorica Musculata - Masterwork, hardened, lightened (!)
24. Mithril Shamshir - Masterwork, Hardened edge

After this, Darista's loot seems unimpressive:

25. Steel Phrygian Armor - Masterwork, lightened (!)
26. Steel Skeggox - Masterwork, Hardened edge

For a self-proclaimed chosen of a god, Belgutai wasn't that tough:

27. Studded Ordu Armor - Hardened, Reinforced (!)
28. Steel Shamshir - Masterwork, Hardened edge
_____________________

These items are great for a discerning protagonist who is unwilling to spend hard-earned SP on crafting.

Out of these, the Marculus is so far my favourite. You can get it by any character, right in the start of the game. It alone merits making a character focused on Hammers, at least in the demo/early access.

For the endgame, the mithril items are obviously the way to go, and they sport some awesome upgrades.

Have you found any other upgraded weapons or armor? Post them here for embetterment of everyone's gaming experience!

P.S. the Arena champion's armor apparently has 3 upgrades... better than you could ever craft yourself. Go figure!

Killing the Assassins Guild yielded a gold mine of upgraded stuff.

In the next update some of the loot like the Champion's armor will get unique name and description ;)

I have sold quite a few masterwork equipment that I recived in the Arena. For instance a 2 handed and an 1 handed spear Can't remember who dropped what though. Although if I replay a fighter and no one has posted the drops, I'll help with it.

Also, if you take disguise route during assassin quest you can get Steel Imperial Armor.

In Darius' Tomb you can get Mithril Praetorian Armor Lightened, Masterwork...the most expensive armor I found so far.

Levir carries a Mithril Jambia.

By the way, to do mithril weapons how much crafting you need? I found some mithril in Darius' Tomb, wondering if it would make a good mithril jambia.

Awesome! Will add to the list.

Can a pure fighter get that armor, or does it require social/lore skills?

I would assume 8 crafting. It seems to be:

2 bronze > 4 iron > 6 steel > 8 mithril > 10 meteoric?

Haven't crafted anything above steel yet, so not 100% sure.

Great! I was hoping to see some Baldur's Gate style descriptions of unique items.

For Steel Armor you need at 3 in Disguise where you act as a Merchant after killing Carrinas with Dias. You can crit-kill the guard and then take your loot. Steel Imperial Armor is really cool giving 10DR.

Currently Darius' Tomb is open only if you work with Gaelius...though I expect developers to give people access to such places in other ways. After all, Darius' Tomb is filled with raiders right now...and someone else could have a reason to remove them. (Maybe they should tie them to Gracchus XD) I am not sure how much Perception is required to open the secret place. I'll check it out now.

Aww, it seems my pure fighters are likely gonna miss on that cool loot.

I had no problem getting some good loot in the tomb as a pure dumb fighter with 4chr 4int.
Maadoran has lots of opportunities for loot for fighters. Items in Teron are a lot more dependent on what path you take.
urartu Nov 24, 2013 @ 5:43am
Checked now with my fighter who has 8 Str 8 Dex 8 Con 8 Per 4 Int 4 Cha. I was able to notice the hidden place at first (unsure about the lowest possible Perception value). Perception was not enough to find a switch but with 8 Str I was able to force open it. It is also possible to ask Raiders for help (if you did not kill them already) but they'll turn on you at the sarcophagus...it is possible to throw a social check (I guess it was streetwise/charisma) or kill them there. Alternative way is to blow it up with Alchemy.

And yeah, pure Imperial Guard will miss out on them...but you know...even if you work for Gaelius you could still betray to his aspirations by working with Senna and trying to prevent Ordu from coming to Maadoran. (But yeah, not as glorious as being the hero of Harran Pass)

Mithril armor is really cool. I wonder how would it be to have a Meteorite Imperial Armor XD Sounds like a dream for the full game lol.

Added Levir's Jambia - possibly the best dagger in the game.

Unfortunately the quest itself (stealing back Antidas' gold from the thieves in Maadoran) is either bugged or unsolveable by a pure fighter.

You can also loot it from him if you choose to side with Lady Lorenza(during Assassin's Guild Quests) and ask her about forbidden knowledge as a reward. Then she will arrange a journey for you to a place(catacombs) where Levir is following a loremaster....there you can either leave the catacombs or take care of Levir and his guards.
