The Black Company is a huge inspiration, we're all fans.

Ironically I was actually reading the Black Company books for the first time when I bought the game. The coincidence threw me so hard I thought I had imagined it the first time I loaded haha. Great game thus far - I can tell because I suck at it and normally breeze through them. getting there one fight (and 20 reloads) at a time! I will post seperately, but is there anywhere you can get more alchemy stuff in game (I know the dude said that was all I'd get, but I feel like I kinda wasted a bunch of skill points lol).

Black Company is awesome.

Unfortunately, I found that the series' appeal declines somewhat in the later books. The first one is the greatest.

Alchemy: more alchemy ingredients and opportunitie will be added in Maadoran soon.

Black Company: sure, first books are the strongest ones, though after reading those there was no way I could drop the series. Last Book of The North (5th, IIRC) was really good too, imo, concluding stories of the characters who were left behind.

yea the first books were the best but i really liked the others also. croaker being the new captain just piqued my intrest and kept me reading.

The only way Mount and Blade could have been a better title is if it was set in the Black Company storyline.

Sooo, a little bit of an old post but I didn't want to make a new thread just to say; 'While I've been really enjoying The Black Company, first time reading and towards the end of the second book, by and large the setting actually reminds me much more of 'The Dark Eidolon' and some other C.A.S. stories. Of course with a sprinkling of Lovecraft and Howard, as is only natural.
