Shamsir or Handar?

For sword users, which one handed sword do you prefer for the armored opponents?

Personally, as a dodger I prefer the Shamsir, as often I have to kill the enemy quickly, so no time to grind by lowering armor, people who prefer block might differ.

Regardless, I believe the best swords you can find / loot in the game are Shamsirs , from Al Sahim and someone else, don't remember who exactly, and I usually just end up using those.

Another one (named Lion Claw) is from Centurion in Ganezzar Arena. Accesed by IG members only, I believe.

Nope, you must be the Champion of the Maadoran Arena.
As for his sword - you must pass the check Streetwise + Charisma >= 10

Yep, Lion's Claw is an unique item:
It’s a very old shamshir forged from the patterned blue steel. The blade has seen plenty of use – it’s covered with nicks and scratches, but the edge is still keen and the balance is flawless. The maker’s mark is a lion’s claw, which is what gave the sword its name.

I've stuck with Dreamweaver - bought for 4k imperials (cheaper with trading skill) from imperial trader in Maadoran. With poison,sharpened and a THC bonus at 23% and only 4AP for regular hits and 5 aimed (head) I just do aimed head shots (have 8 in sword 10 in dodge). Killed widowmaker with two hits then a riposte from his miss. The lower AP really makes this sword good for me.
