AG to Praetor Aurelian

Is it no longer possible to join House Aurelian (and go to Darius Tomb) immediately upon arrival to Maadoran? In a brand new game (after the last update) I offered him my services (after showing the map to Domitius), but I do not have Darius Tomb quest and he tells me to leave if I try to talk to him again. I can, however, do AG quests. Is this a bug or a change from last update?

Edit: just looked at the changelog again, it says that I should be able to join HA, but it somehow did not happen. I am his liegeman, but I didn't get any quests from him. Refusing to do AG4 does not change anything either.

Change. From now the only way to join House Aurelian is by offering something of value (warning him of a plot, serving his House by fixing the mining machine, protecting his spy, etc).

I see, the changelog is not clear about it. Is there a greater reward for fixing the smelter for Gaelius than for Antidas? I noticed that Daratan Praetor and, I believe, a guard (that helps Carrinas to take over) can return later and fix the smelter to produce blue steel for additional SP. Is this now possible for Gaelius as well and are SP rewards for serving Gaelius (through fixing the smelter) and abandoning two quests in Teron balanced to justify taking such a path? This used to be my favorite path in light of being able to visit all possible locations and thus maximizing the experience.

Originally, Darius' tomb was added to compensate for leaving Teron early. Then we added the option to join HA at any point and it quickly became a cheap way in (and a way to break things - finish one questline, talk to Domitius and join HA, or do things in Ganezzar, then talk to Domitius, etc).

That's what I figured when I was experimenting and looking for all possible content earlier with this game. It does, however, seem that abandoning 2 quests in Teron is not necessaily balanced by adding one quest. I'll test it out and see if there are significant differences in SP distribution and subsequent difficulty of the HA path. Is the Darius Tomb option also removed for Daratan Praetor who saves Gaelius' life and offers his services to him?

You are a boatmen and offered to join before doing AG4, right? With this line:

"You are a Boatman, aren't you? If you truly wish to serve me, I can talk to Darista and have your oath to the guild dissolved."

“I will be honored to serve you, my Lord."

I think I can see where the issue might be.

I went with IG quests but decided to go Aurelian instead so reloaded my save at the beggining of Maadoran but now I dont have option to inform Gaelius of the plot despite it being there before.

IG don't plot to kill him, which is the plot you can warn Gaelius of. As far as I know you can't warn him about the IG's goal of stopping the Ordu.
