But imo, loremaster will shine the most in a hybrid build, with just 5 Cha you can already get training from both Feng and Cassius, +1 WoH and 1 power tube.
nonsense, i'll say loremaster is the best choice, if you stay working for the boatmen (not working for HA in maadoran). Loremaster background has the highest HD rep, thus with even 4 Cha you can still get both training from Feng and Cassius.
you cannot join house daratan in teron without choosing the praetor background.
there is always a way to join House Aurelian in maadoran, even if you mess things up in teron, as long as you join a faction and not guildless in teron.
Is there anyway to join a House as a loremaster? Better yet, is it possible to start as a praetor/loremaster hybrid? and receive training from Feng and Cassius or do you have to start as a loremaster to receive training from Feng?
Can you also join House Crassus as a loremaster? Yeah I remember the possibility of joining House Aurelian when doing the Boatmen questline. Can you still join House Aurelian though if you go praetor?
Thanks for your reply btw!
Don't think that you can do that, either Feng or Cassius are loremasters in Teron. In Maadoran there is already a dedicated loremaster and you cant really get rid of him, but you can debate with him on some stuff.
Yeah I think you can join House Aurelian if you're a Daratan Praetor, I think you get the option to desert from HD when you first meet Gaelius, or maybe after you safe his life .
That will be interesting. Like I stated, I tried a sort of combat loremaster hybrid build when I made a loremaster who got in with the Boatmen. It would be interesting to do a praetor/loremaster. I guess I'll have to be decent at persuasion/etiquette. I've never really done a successful praetor build before lol
Yeah my first loremaster went with the boatmen (assassins). I beat the game with that faction, but I didn't feel very "loremaster-y". Didn't encounter as many instances to use the lore skill as I would have liked.
First of all, you won't be able to get even half of the content within one single playthrough. Your choice in the first city can really change the outcome later on. But yes, going hybird is indeed the quickest way, but harder. The more content you want to get, the harder it is. The game itself is short, so it's wiser to have more but less intense game.
Now, to get all, if not, most of the content of the Houses, you need to play both as a praetor and an imperial guard. There will be betrayal in every city so prepare to make some hard saves. In the case for praetor, luckily you can either talk your way out or brute force the mission, thus saving you the time and the pain trying to succeed using hybird build. But unfortunately not the case for imperial guard.
Other faction will give you a different perspective on the current conflict on the House, no more no less.
It's just that when I played a loremaster and went with the boatmen, I didn't feel very "loremaster-y". But it sounds like a praetor/loremaster hybrid route is the way to go if I want enough opportunities to actually use the lore skill. I've never joined with House Aurelian before, so this will be interesting.
